Here's a song me and my band just recorded a demo of. The full version should be better.

cool
Mobile World Congress this week ushered in a range of trends, but one underappreciated development is the use of smartphone camera technology to do more than take selfies and cat photos.

Beets are commonly known for their abundance of vitamins and minerals—potassium, fiber, A, B and C, to name a few. But the beautiful red roots are also chock-full of boron—a trace...

I get this .

Going through my old G+ posts to filter out what I want to stick on my blog and I found this -- a quote from Stephen King that is so full of right that I cannot find a superlative for it.

New footycatsblog. I recap the Crows Cats game and ponder our lack of contested ball and talk about my latest bet with the apprentice at work.

I love a good ride.

In a month from today we'll be spending the day loading something like quarter of a million dollars worth of bicycles into a truck ready to take them to the nations capital for the Tour de Legacy 2.
So starting in Canberra on the 12th of April, a group of -28- 27 riders and 6 support crew will ride as a group leaving the Australian War Memorial with an official send off by the Governor General and other notables.
It's not a race, we stay as a group every day travelling in stages as short as 60 km on day 1, from Canberra to Yass (60 K to these guys is just a warm up) to several days of almost 200 km.
Over the course of 12 days we'll go from Canberra to Yass, Cootamundra, Wagga, Albury, Shepparton, Echuca, Swan Hill, Robinvale, Mildura, (where we'll be joined by another 20 riders who were unable to get time off work to do the entire event) on to Berri, Nooriootpa and finally Adelaide to a welcome home at the Torrens Parade Ground by Legacy Adelaide.. probably the Lord Mayor and the Governor (as happened last time) on the 24th of April, 1 day shy of the 100th anniversary of Anzac Day.  A total of about 1,500 km, plus or minus.. a few.

The Overnight stops had to be worked out so we could arrive in towns that had enough accommodation to cater for a group of about 35 people

It is a fund raising event, but it's also an event to bring awareness to the people of the work Legacy do for the families of returned servicemen and  women.

At every nights stop, there's official functions being held by either the local Legacy group or the RSL.

These guys and girls are not professional cyclists, though, 2 of them joining us are ex professionals having ridden in the Tour de France many times and both having won the Tour Down Under.

I'll post more details as we get closer, but it would be pretty cool if any Aussies who happen to see this and be in those towns as we stop, caught up with us..
Anabelle and I will be in the support vehicle right at the back, doing our best to get traffic through with as little delays as possible and safely.
Edit - everyone involved in this event is 100% volunteering their time..
not a single dollar raised from any of the riders sponsorships goes to anything but Legacy.  Anabelle and I give our 14 days happily, it's a great cause.
(damn,  just had a phone call, one of the guys had an accident yesterday and is out, broken femur and hip)
