I had someone on FaceBook tell me that all over Newtown was a case of " "voluntarily compliance" and I was over reacting..

This is the face of "voluntarily compliance." A SWAT team surrounding your house, guns pointed at you, police dressed in paramilitary gear screaming orders at you, them rushing your house as you are dragged out.

Did you show this to your Facebook friends? What was their reaction?

Watertown Lockdown Controversy and Martial Law
While the situation was serious and considered dangerous, how much of our liberties are we willing to give up in the name of security??

I felt it was an overreaction and allows the terrorists to win by locking down our cities and leaving people to cower in their homes. The terrorists succeeded by impacting the community economically, but also psychologically by leaving them in a state of fear and in confinement, while a police force equivalent to a small army surrounded their homes and streets. How safe did residents feel knowing some terrorist with a bomb could enter their home at anytime, in the dark of night and hold them at gunpoint and threaten to blow himself and them up??

How safe would you have felt especially knowing you didn't even own a gun or have a license for mace or pepper spray, as required by Massachusetts stae law??

I think it's time, we as a free people, consider how much freedom we are willing to give up in the name of security and if we are willing to give up our freedoms after what transpired on April 15, over two men armed with WMD and guns, are we willing to lose all freedoms?

+Rosepher Catervas  I posted "This is the face of "voluntarily compliance." A SWAT team surrounding your house, guns pointed at you, police dressed in paramilitary gear screaming orders at you, them rushing your house as you are dragged out."

and the response was - "Not a single person was "dragged" anywhere. That video shows people complying to a search request. Your link is broken, but the video is out there. People like you add the word "drag" in to the description to sensationalize the story. You want I to be a smoking gun, but it's not
Yawn..."

I asked - Did you watch the video?

The response was - Which one? The first one where the worst violation is the kid is yelled at and then touched to ensure he raised his hands? If that's what you're up in arms about then you're just disconnected from reality. Sorry the officer was abrupt.
The second video shows absolutely nothing.
Does that answer your question?

People are crazy.  If this had been ordered by G.W. Bush, I think we all know how outraged those same people would have been.

A voluntary search does NOT have the police pointing guns at you and screaming at you.
