A fantastic veg friendly cafe a little off the beaten track in Bethnal Green. Worth the exploration to find. Inexpensive and great for spending the day with your laptop.

I had been looking forwards to trying this place for ages as I'm always on the look out for new veggie places in london. however i think it was actually one of the worst meals out I've ever had in london. i ordered a mexican style salad which came as some shredded lettuce, some tinned kidney beans and a few slices of red pepper and chills. and some sort of horrible THICK gloopy sauce. and there was so much sauce that everything was swimming in it. it makes me feel sick thinking about it. they could have just been having a bad day and i can accept that but i won't be visiting again!

The food is average it's only good for its pizza which can be hit and miss depending on how they cook it. We have been in the cafe quite a few times and have been served by different staff but they are all so consistent at bad service. Seriously they are a bunch of half heads, I asked the guy behind the till whether an item was vegan and he said yeah it's the "vegan cafe it's all vegan". Haloumi is not vegan is it? Clearly do not what they are talking about. They took over an hour to clear our food off our table, it was only when we moved it onto the next table that they paid attention. I've never known such slack service before they all seem there just for a laugh and joke rather than doing their jobs properly. Definitely better vegan food out there.

Went here today after having heard many good things over the years. Garden out back is lovely but both the service and the food were some of the worst I have ever experienced in London. To begin with, the guy at the counter was exceptionally rude and appeared to be either extremely hungover or actually still high on something from the night before. Rather than serving us he stood around uselessly making himself a coffee and drinking it in front of us while avoiding eye contact. When we finally got him to take our order he was very brisk and still didn't make eye contact. We ordered the Halloumi Wrap and the Vegan Burger and had to wait for over 30 minutes, which seemed very long given that the place was basically empty. When the food finally came, they had forgotten the cheese on my burger and when I went inside another waiter looked at me stoically and dragged my plate into the kitchen to add some cheese to the burger, without even so much as apologising. I trudged back to the garden with my burger and tried one of the 'homemade' fries. It was inedible. The oil in their fryer clearly wasn't hot enough so what they had served me were oil drenched pieces of potato still completely raw on the inside. Absolutely vile. To top it all off, my partner bit into his Halloumi wrap to find an entire raw garlic clove inside. What a terrible disappointment, absolutely avoid! It's a shame that vegetarian places so often fall short on service and food quality in this city.

Great coffee shops especially in summer during the weekend. You can enjoy their lovely garden and even as a non vegeterian person I think the food is pretty good ;)

Really nice vegan cafe. Its popularity sometimes pushes its resources to the limit but the food and vegan options are great. Nice drinks and décor too.

Got a lot worse lately. Have they lost a chef? Not as many options and the options on offer are of lower quality. Also increasingly full of disgusting hipsters who have read about it in magazines rather than normal people.

I love vegan burgers that don't try to creepily imitate meat, so Gallery Cafe succeeds with its patty made from tofu and veggies. Great texture, nicely flavored, and the sourdough bun is swirled with vegan mayo that also passes muster. Side salad and a generous helping of fries rounds out the £7.95 meal, and it was enough for me for a light lunch and dinner. Great seating area with plenty of light, and the vibe made me do doubletakes to make sure I hadn't warped back to Berkeley. The place can get packed on sunny weekends, but not much trouble finding a table if you don't mind a bit o' a squeeze. There's a little stage for live music as well!
