Cramped but cracking. I've eaten three dishes here and they were all brilliant. Sitting outside is nicer, it's more roomy and you don't get that fried smell on your clothes. Even that's worth it though, for the food. This is simple fare, bagels and pastas etc, but done up a bit fancier. Excellent for vegans, and better value than most equally good vegan-friendly places. Quick service, great for a light or hearty lunch. Wish I could come more often, but its a bit out of my way. Also, bottomless self-service water (with mint) available from dispensers on the counter. That's an option that should really be more common in bars and lunch venues. My girlfriend at the time came with me here once and she loved it too. She's a fussy eater. Toilet facilities could use some TLC - clean, but small and run down.

A fantastic veg friendly cafe a little off the beaten track in Bethnal Green. Worth the exploration to find. Inexpensive and great for spending the day with your laptop.

I had been looking forwards to trying this place for ages as I'm always on the look out for new veggie places in london. however i think it was actually one of the worst meals out I've ever had in london. i ordered a mexican style salad which came as some shredded lettuce, some tinned kidney beans and a few slices of red pepper and chills. and some sort of horrible THICK gloopy sauce. and there was so much sauce that everything was swimming in it. it makes me feel sick thinking about it. they could have just been having a bad day and i can accept that but i won't be visiting again!

Really nice vegan cafe. Its popularity sometimes pushes its resources to the limit but the food and vegan options are great. Nice drinks and décor too.

Brilliant vegan restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere that reminded me of hippy Brighton cafés. Really fond of this space, and you forget the food's even vegan.

Great coffee shops especially in summer during the weekend. You can enjoy their lovely garden and even as a non vegeterian person I think the food is pretty good ;)

Olive skinned girl with dark hair in dreadlocks came out of women's toilet and passed me at the shared unisex sink to go straight to the kitchen without washing her hands. WTF?
Response from the owner - a month ago
Dear Andrew, Thank you for coming to our Cafe. Just so you know, there is a separate sink in the ladies toilet and most of the ladies prefer to wash their hands in there. I am sure that was the case with our colleague too. Have a lovely week, The Gallery Cafe Team

The food is average it's only good for its pizza which can be hit and miss depending on how they cook it. We have been in the cafe quite a few times and have been served by different staff but they are all so consistent at bad service. Seriously they are a bunch of half heads, I asked the guy behind the till whether an item was vegan and he said yeah it's the "vegan cafe it's all vegan". Haloumi is not vegan is it? Clearly do not what they are talking about. They took over an hour to clear our food off our table, it was only when we moved it onto the next table that they paid attention. I've never known such slack service before they all seem there just for a laugh and joke rather than doing their jobs properly. Definitely better vegan food out there.
