This place didn't win the international competition, tales from the cocktail, for world's best cocktail bar and world's best drink selection in 2011 for nothing. I usually start with a vesper and move to the ready fire aim and if I eat there I get the duck salad. Late nights and weekends get crowded but this is a great place for an early week romantic dinner.

I can only comment on the drinks since I have never had the food but boy are they amazing. They are a bit on the pricey end but definitely worth it. As do most speakeasies, it has a cool decor and vibe inside. Sometimes it can get really crowded which clearly takes away from this vibe and makes it hard to get in. The crowd is hit or miss sometimes, but don't let that stop you from their amazing cocktails.

Wonderful cocktails expertly made by fastidious yet casual bartenders. Haven't tried the psychic.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Drinks: Great. Space: This bar is hidden behind a Psychic storefront. Once you get passed the bouncer, the psychic is in her window front office, pass the curtains and voila there's EO! It's basically a narrow space that is built around the bar! :) Scene: Very cozy and casual bar. The only pretense is that I have been told the bouncer is selective, the rest is laid-back, and you can get a psychic reading while you wait for drinks. Good for get-togethers and date night. It does get crowded on the weekends and is pretty busy on weeknights. So, expect a wait at the bar for drinks. Crowd: Locals, professionals, and tourists. Pick-up scene. Service: Not bad since it's really crowded.

Cool speakeasy-esque space behind a fortune-teller. My two friends and I had the bone marrow poppers and the cucumber and radish salad. Both were more delicious than I expected. This place is known for their cocktails so I was surprised that their "selection" of non-alcoholic cocktails was just a non-alcoholic version of the West Side which ended up being a $7 lemon juice with mint. With regards to their alcoholic cocktails, the menu looked good and the prices are in line with any other nice NY speakeasy. My only complaint is how crowded the space is. I believe the 3 of us arrived around 9pm on a Thursday night and were crammed into a table in the back, pushed against all of our neighboring guests. I can't imagine how crowded it must be at the bar, which looks like a nightmare from where I sat. Other than that, cool place for a nice night out.
