Anyone who knows anything about cocktails knows this is one of the best in the world. With those high standards set, I was mildly disappointed when I visited Employees Only. Being from Texas, I knew I wasn't going to get the most inviting atmosphere, but this was even below my expectations for NYC. Very crowded and not well designed with the bar tenders being quite short with the patrons in order to move a long to the next in line. I get it, it's a business, you're pushing people through. Atmosphere aside, the drinks were phenomenal and worthy of five stars by themselves. To sum up my only gripe: They're TOO big for their place.

A great experience, a little crowded in the bar area but was forgotten once we received our food. I wasn't that hungry so I had the grilled cheese with parmesan fries, then I wished I had some more. Hung out with a few Australians and had a blast, dancing and drinking in the dining area. I would definitely revisit on my next trip to NYC. Thanks for the awesome memories!!!

The best spot on during the weeks! Bartenders are professional. People who goes there. High end people. $16 a drink. Totally worth!

This is where I want to go if I feel like hitting up a house party where I know no one. Its small, crowded, and packed with an eclectic group of downtown intelligentsia. Every time I go, I feel like I've been transported to Paris in the 20's. It feels old school, but in an exciting way. I always seem to get caught up in conversation with someone I've never met before. Besides the excellent mingling environment, the cocktails are DELICIOUS. Pass on your usual G+T and get weird with whatever they put on the menu that week. A great spot for after dinner cocktails or post-movie snacks (Reuben Croquettes? Yes please!). If you're going to eat, call ahead and get a table. I like to get to this place around 9:30 or 10. Any time after, you'll likely be turned away at the door because its reached capacity. Also, you'll be required to respect the dress code. No flip flops. Go beyond casual. Show them you care, because they certainly do.

I stumbled upon this place last night with a friend as we were looking for a new speakeasy bar. There's a psychic sign in the front window and as you walk in, you will walk past a psychic and into a very cool, low key bar with some seating in the back for food. We didn't eat but the cocktails were truly outstanding, the bartenders really know what they are doing. I had the Fraise Sauvage with wild strawberries, one word for it - DELICIOUS! It had the perfect combination of alcohol and sweetness to it. My friend had the Billionaire Cocktail - a bit on the stronger side if you like boozier cocktails. I will definitely be back here again. Really cool bar with food. Will be back to try the food. It smelled and looked delicious. The only drawback - they have only one bathroom. Otherwise, love the ambiance, cool crowd, great cocktails and fun atmosphere.

If you were hoping that the bone marrow popper would be bone marrow in deep fried tater tot form--well, it's not. Sorry. I know. If only. But it's still tasty. A brick of fat on a hot fluffy pastry. 3 per order. The cocktails are GREAT!! Especially before 10pm, when it's not so crowded that you can't be sure whether you're smelling the aroma of bitters or of your neighbor's armpit.

I dined here recently on a Wednesday night with a friend after dying to try this restaurant for a while. First off, they open at 6 pm during the week and not a minute before so avoid an early arrival. Once they open for the evening there is a security guy out front but he is very friendly. You immediately enter the bar area after you pass the entrance door. The dining area is directly in the back but overall the place is pretty small. But I love the skylight in the dining area because it gives you the feeling that you are dining outdoors in the back yard without the cold air. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming as was most of the staff. The drinks I must say are very unique, flavorful and blended well. I tried the Vesper and was impressed with the presentation and taste. My friend ordered the Amelia which was on the sweeter side so I would order that next time I visit. For my meal I ordered the bacon wrapped lamb chops along with the Orecchiette and they were both delicious and did not disappoint. The best part was the bacon wrapped lambchops! My friend order the duck confit salad as well as the bacon wrapped lambchops. I was very impressed with the duck confit as well because it was so flavorful and I am not a fan of duck meat! We did order dessert because the description sounded so delicious. For my dessert I ordered the butterscotch/mascarpone cheesecake with sea salt and nut Brittle. My friend ordered the chocolate pudding which was layered with the flavors of hazelnut, caramel and fudge brownie. Both were pure heaven but I like the cheesecake best simply because I am not a great fan of chocolate. I would definitely return in the future but my only complaint would be about the restroom which was only one and it was unisex. For a week night the place filled quickly and so did the line for the bathroom. I skipped the fortune teller who was in the bar area so I can give no review on that experience.
