Went there on a Tuesday night. Food was really bad. Chef had a bad attitude. Food came out cold, so he put it in the microwave, as I heard the door slam and the buttons pressed. The crab pot was a bit stinky. Fresh crab shouldn't smell. Winter vegetables came out raw and peas were slightly old looking. Like they had been cooked before. Chicken was bland and tasteless. Staff were very good and gave us money off our bill and free desserts.

Wonderful place to stay in Cornwall. Beautiful. Can't recommend it enough. A little piece of heaven. Lowen is the best cottage to stay in, but saying that, they are all lovely houses to stay in.

Lunch buffet at the weekend is amazing. If I was rating just this, then it would get 5 stars. Evening meals are nice, but nothing special and expensive for what it is. Had better at my local Indian restaurant. The Tikka Makalani (sorry if I got this wrong ) is like chicken in heinz tomato soup. Very bland and very disappointing. My advice is go to the Lunch buffet and you'll be more than happy with the food.

Used to be good. The food and service used to be spot on. Went there recently and the food was cold and like it was just thrown together. Kids meal came from the left overs at breakfast. Had to take it back and have a new meal cooked, it was that bad. Service was poor. The place was empty but still none of the staff came over asking if we wanted more drinks, take our plates away etc. I had to get up myself and ask for more drinks, complaining about the food and to get the bill.

A local hidden gem. It's in a shit hole of an area, but get past that and you have an amazing restaurant, with great people and fantastic food. I travel a 15 mile round trip to get my takeaway from them.

I could stay in this pub forever, watching the harbour and it's boats from the comfort of the outside seating area, with several pints of Guinness and endless bowls of seafood chowder.
