With an American focussed menu and friendly service, this place is a winner for all the Crouch End families, if you aren't a fan of children running riot you'll probably want to avoid it though. Booking is highly recommended, especially at weekends. The cocktails are great and big beef ribs are highly recommended

Not perhaps the cheapest steak/burger place you'll find, but conveniently located for North London dwellers and the mid-week specials mean you can enjoy a burger, fries and a drink for under a £10. The cocktails are pretty damn serious too. This place can be enjoyed as a bar, or you can head to the tables and get stuck in to some serious nosh. Great for families or a younger crowd. Kiddies are stuck in the back so those who haven't yet given up on life can enjoy heavy drinking away from the crayon-fest. Perfect!

MonkeyNuts isn't massively exciting, but it's a good spot for large groups or families. The menu has a loose US theme, with mac & cheese, burgers and steak featuring highly on the menu. I went for the fishcake (yes, single). Although it came with a lovely salad, £12 was far too pricey for a main of that size. If you're dropping by on the weekend then book or expect a wait of 20 minutes or so like we did.

Went there a few weeks ago for a "play meal" with my son and his friend (8 year old). The food was not cheap. Food quality is mediocre. I think it's not for the lack of trying but simple for the lack of ability of someone in the kitchen. It's not my first time there -- I can't refuse when I am invited -- but each time, I find my experience dissatisfying for my taste buds and my wallet.

I've been a few time and they have nice steak and burgers. Ribs are OK. If you sit in the front of the restaurant near the bar you can avoid a large portion of the 'energetic' children and prams.

Great food, exciting unique decor and an amazing selection of music.
