I went with friends after work on a Friday. We were able to get a table quickly, staff was on point, and service was great. Everyone loved their food, including the super tasty salsa and guac. We scraped the bowl clean! My drink was so so good, and the happy hour prices were great. I will for sure be going back!

Great spot for group dinners - just don't fall into the trap of ordering too little because one person's order. Just tacos are not enough. Share plenty of small plates with the group or you'll leave hangry. Order the margaritas as well as they are pretty generous. Atmosphere is more authentic than most Mexican restaurants and there is a nice small courtyard in the back.

We hosted our daughter’s graduation dinner at La Calaca Feliz. The management was very accommodating, the pricing was reasonable, the advance planning was well executed, the food and drink were excellent and plentiful, and the service was very personal and pleasant. All of our guests had a great time there, as did we. Thank you to Zachary Bourne and his staff for a delightful evening.

Great mexican restaurant. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were pretty awesome. Great environment. Also a good location about a block from the eastern state penitentiary.

Mexican flare at its best! Best happy hour specials on delicious tacos and margaritas. This place delivers time and time again. Staff is exceptional, especially Lilac the bar maiden :)

I want to like La Calaca Feliz more. Some of my best food memories are of rich caldos and tasty elotes eaten by the roadside in Central America. But my overall impression is best summarized as: overpriced and little boring. Saved from 2-star review by a perfectly grilled piece of fish, a tart passionfruit reduction that married perfectly with a rich ganache, and a cozy room.

We were ate around 4pm so they had a limited menu but it was fantastic. The fish tacos and carnitas tacos were superb. Best thing were the nachos...possibly the best nachos I have ever eaten. We will definitely return for a full dinner menu.
