In late January 2013, +Cameron McCormack and I are running a Browser Miniconf at linux.conf.au, in Canberra, Australia.

Cameron and I proposed the event to provide an opportunity for browser hackers to get together as a community, regardless of the particular browser that they work on. This is the second year that the miniconf has been run - last year we had around 70 participants and discussed topics as varied as vendor namespaces and javascript media streams.

If you'd like to attend this event, you will need to register for linux.conf.au (http://linux.conf.au/).

If you would like to come and give a talk, please check out our Call for Papers: http://mcc.id.au/BrowserMiniconf/LCA2013/CallForPapers. We're welcoming submissions on essentially any browser-related topic.

Let me know if you're interested in coming along!
Call for Papers. → Submission deadline: 30th November. Submissions are now open for presentations at the LCA Browser Miniconf, to be held at linux.conf.au 2013. LCA 2013 will be hosted at the Australi...

+Shane Stephens I used to catch these things as a kid so I think I know quite a bit about them. While the males do lose some but not all of the red in the non-breeding season that point is moot since I am pretty sure that right now is the breeding season :-).

Thanks to all who have submitted talk proposals so far for the Browser Miniconf at linux.conf.au (http://mcc.id.au/BrowserMiniconf/LCA2012/CallForPapers).

We've got a little more time up our sleeves than we anticipated, so we've extended the submission deadline by another two weeks

Hi Lazy+

In the context of lambajam (http://www.yowconference.com.au/), what is the difference between a jam, a workshop, and a regular talk?

Seems like this would be useful info to include on the web page? Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy.

Dear Inverse Lazyweb:

For months now I've been annoyed that my iPod nano doesn't group my compilation albums (apparently I have 41) together when searching by album, but instead splits them up by artist (which means approximately 400 entries in the artist dictionary that I really don't want).

Turns out there's a handy dandy setting under "music" called "group compilations" (it could be longer. The iPod nano screen is small.) that fixes the problem! Yay!

Now I just need to fix the fact that a number of CDs that are broken when searching by artist because of one track that was imported as "A featuring B"...
