+ Contemporary and innovative menu, + nice interior, intimate atmosphere, + outstanding service Eating out in a sophisticated restaurant in the Bay Area that really delivers is quite complicated. You either have to drive up to the city or fly out to Las Vegas, L.A. or San Diego. Thankfully I found Station 1 that features a contemporary, innovative menu with a traditional note without being over sophisticated like many eateries in the other mentioned locations. You feel like coming home since the interior is made of wooden tables matching the modern rustic atmosphere. The menu consists of local organic products and changes almost every month. From Tue to Sat they offer a 3-course prix fixe menu for around $54 per person. Unfortunately, they stopped doing their Sunday Supper with a different menu each weekend and the wine list is quite high priced. Since Station 1 is a small restaurant with limited seating, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. They accept credit cards and are only open from Tue-Sat, 5:30-9:30pm!

3 course prix fixe in an intimate, unpretentious setting. The food and service were wonderful. The only down sides were it could get a little bit noisy, and the chairs were too hard, making it uncomfortable to sit on after a while.

Small one-bite appetizers before the meal were consistently awesome. Steak was perfectly cooked.

Great food, professional service and nice setting. Contemporary American fare done right with local produce and great selection of rotating items. Wine is not something I usually order so passed on that, but dessert was great. They also have pre-fixe menus.
