Benedicts, burgers & more in a cozy space with chandeliers & diner-style tables, some outdoors.- Google
"Love the breakfast options, especially the eggs benedict!"
"Amazing. They have Bonne Maman Preserves and sour dough French Toast."

Pricey (45$ for 2 entrees at lunch... coffee costs more than at starbucks), limited selection (other than the variety of eggs benedict). Not accommodating at all (no substitutions or special requests). BTW CASH ONLY! Very disappointing.

CASH ONLY!!! How many would take $50 cash for a breakfast? They do have a small piece of paper near the door but who would look for it in a normal restaurant? A more responsible way is to replace the outside "Katy's Place" with "Cash Only", and write "Katy's Place" on that small piece of paper.

One of the worst restaurants in Carmel. Only a fool would eat here. My wife had a dry blueberry muffin and I had a short stack of plain pancakes with tepid weak coffee. Our bill was $40 CASH! They do not accept credit cards. The service was weak. A waitress knocked over a stack of plastic cups onto the filthy floor. She started to put the cups back on the shelf when she heard the groans of people watching. She stopped. Their eggs are over cooked until they are near sawdust. My pork sausage was underdone. Which I refused to eat but paid for. The people working there are not friendly but not unfriendly. It's more of an atmosphere of contempt than welcome. They want your money but don't want you to be there, if you know what I mean. There are restaurants in Carmel that serve excellent food and give great service for the same money spent. They also take credit card. Katy's would be better suited for downtown Salinas where people don't know better. Katy's does not belong in Carmel. You can dress up a monkey but it's still a monkey. I give Katy's a resounding thumbs down. You are better off staying in your hotel room drinking instant coffee and eating a power bar.

I had the Country Omelette for breakfast and it was rich and delicious. So stuffed, I think I will have to forego lunch!

Best seafood omelette, my favorite, I've had in 30 years! Had the lobster, crab, shrimp omelette on a monday morning 10 days ago - epic! The waitress was doing a good job keeping up with the orders but I had to personally thank the chefs for the perfect omelette breakfast. My wife had the corned beef hash which was so large we had it again the next day. Saw the recent inconsistent 1star review by Danny boy (no last name) but he appears to be the customer from hell. He should stick with IHOPs where they will put pwenty of whip cream on his pan-cake and take his cwedit cawd. Carry cash fool- lol

Hm, Katy's. You disappointed me. I was SUPER excited for visiting Carmel (it was my second time ever in the area) and my hubby and I were working on trying to plan a fun day around great food spots. Katy's stuck out to me when I was checking out places on Yelp since they had a super cute main photo of a corgi sitting at a table. We were bringing out dogs with us for the day so going to a dog-friendly place was important. So, we arrived, and I stood at the front desk area for probably 3 solid minutes while the host was doing a crossword puzzle (or something) without even looking up for a second. A waiter literally had to tap him on the shoulder for him to look up at me and in a very disgruntled tone ask me what I wanted. I told him it was 2 of us + two dogs and he looked very displeased with me. He said we would have to carry the dogs to the back patio (which is fine), but it was just a very unpleasant experience. Once we were seated the experience was a little better - the waitress was very nice and the people outside were also super excited to see our dogs. Carmel is a dog-friendly place after all contrary to what the host seemed to feel.. I ordered the Crab benedict and my hubby got the wheatgerm pancakes. The benedict was solid - could have used something like avocado slices to add another flavor profile, but I definitely enjoyed it. The pancakes were inedible. Probably some of the grossest things I have ever had the displeasure of tasting. They are cash only, which is also okay, but a little odd considering their hiked up prices. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot - there were plenty of other cute/better places to try out in Carmel.
