Am really p***ed off. Went out today with the intention of taking some photo's and maybe joining Project 365. Anyway within 15 minutes of leaving my front door I was mugged at knifepoint. They took my camera, mobile phone and about 50 pounds.
I don't hold much hope of getting any of them back. It may not have been the best camera in the world, (Sony a200) but it was mine and I was determined to learn to use it to it's full potential.
Since I joined G+ I have been inspired by so many brilliant photographers and was hoping to use that inspiration to learn my craft, but that is all on hold for the moment. I shall continue to visit everyday and study your fantastic pics and hopefully in about six months I wil be able to get out there again when I get a new camera

My first entry to a theme day #MilitaryMonday hope I'm doing it right
Anyway this is a shot of the Life Guards escorting the Queen down the Mall.
The Life Guards are the senior regiment in the British Army dating back to the 1650s when they escorted King Charles the Second on his return to England after the death of Cromwell. Ever since then they have always had the role as the Soveriegns escort. Together with the Blues and Royals they form the Household Calvary.
However they are not just used for ceremonial duties and have seen action in every major theatre of war since their inception (including World War 1 where two whole squadrons were wiped out in one battle) and even to this day have seen service in Iraq and Afghanistan
