Walker said he was in Young in 1876, - for twelve months another account says nine months. Walker was absent from Sydney "in the country" from late August 1876 to almost April 1877. He is in Sydney in the first six months of 1880. Walker seems to indicate he was only in Young once in the nineteenth century. Is it possible that Baxter was in Young 1876-1877 because that is when Walker most likely was there?

Also Charles Crane (later the Rev Charles Crane ) came to visit to assist in a Mission while Walker was there so he could be one of the others - need to find a photo of him to check this.

Re Dating of your photo. The Rev George Grimm was the minister of Young from 1870-1880. John Walker was appointed to study with Grimm as part of his training for the ministry. Walker lived in Young for about a year ( SMH, June 4, 1897). By July 1880 Grimm was no longer the minister of Young. All sounds good for your dating however John Walker in 1920 said he had studied with Grimm 44 years ago. (Young Witness, 18 September 1920). Perhaps Walker mis remembered - I will look into it some more.
