This satisfies my inner child, inner geek AND my love of dogs.

I hadn't thought of some of this before, despite seeing some of the behaviors first hand in my own dogs. Yet another example of how I sometimes let conventional wisdom trump my own real-life observations.

Do Dogs Love People More Than They Love Other Dogs?
Data suggests that we have bred dogs to love people.

I've noticed +Kiyomi Foreman prefers the company of people over dogs. She seems to treat me as a littermate and Vicky as an "alpha" dog. I wasn't sure if this is because she's a Shetland Sheepdog (which normally do bond strongly to their family) or because she's a single dog.

So it's somewhere around this temperature that the furnace doesn't seem to run enough to keep me warm in my home. Or maybe it's that I haven't adjusted to the cold yet. Either way I'm going with the big down blanket tonight.

Want to fend off mosquitoes and ultimately malaria ? Wash your feet, or set out stinky sock traps.

Even though it's a huge PITA -- I'm leaving my bank for a credit union. Bank of America, you DO have the right to make a profit. But I recall what it was like to bank pre-ATMs and then to be encouraged by banks to use our debit cards by penalizing us if we used the services of actual people at the teller window. It was all about reducing your costs and increasing your profits back then. And now you think you can require me to donate an additional $5 a month of MY MONEY because the profit you make each time I swipe my card at a merchant is not enough for you to make bonuses this year? Good luck with that.

Bank of America 's CEO defended his bank's new $5 fee on debit cards on Wednesday, saying that customers and shareholders understand the bank has a "right to make a profit."

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews. Everyone I know in the south and west suburbs shops at darvin. My living room set has lasted me 15 years. You can't beat their selection and value. They sell a range of items from the low to high end. I shop all over and usually buy from darvin.
