After four years of planning and construction, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant opened in 2005 in Orland Park, a south suburb of Chicago. The concept was unique. We would create a signature menu with a selection of dishes designed to pair perfectly with our own Cooper’s Hawk wines, made in our own private winery. With sophisticated food and exceptional wines, our concept was born.

The Cooper’s Hawk concept includes four distinct components: an upscale casual dining restaurant, full-service bar, private barrel-aging room, and Napa-style tasting room and retail gift store…all under one roof. Each Cooper’s Hawk location is distinctive in layout and décor, but carries the same warmth and elegance that guests have come to expect.

The first time we tried to go to this restaurant, we arrived at the desk and asked if we could sit outside. We were rudely told that we couldn’t. When I asked about the fact that there were already people out there, we were told that we could sit out there but there would be no service. We also requested to know the balance of the gift card we had gotten from a friend. We were told that we could wait in one of the lines at the counters (which were completely full) and they could tell us. So we left. Flash forward to last night. We tried again and were a little skeptical given our last attempt but wanted to try it. This time when we approached we were seated outside. Our waitress was very nice. However, there was quite a bit of time that went by before we got waters and bread. Admittedly, we don’t know how busy she was inside, but outside there were several empty tables. We ordered and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We had to ask for water refills and it took ten minutes to just get the change back from the check. The food was very good, however we won’t be going back anytime soon because the service just doesn’t seem to be quite where it needs to be. Lastly, this was on my birthday, I don’t think they do anything for that. Not a glass of wine or a desert, nothing. All in all, the food is good but the entire experience is sub par.

This is one of my favorite restaurants-- hands down. I am a wine club member and go multiple times a month. Their $7 wine flights (8 tastes) are an awesome deal - generous pours and the bartenders are hilarious. You will be tipsy afterwards!! The food is very good and on par with the price point. I cannot say enough good things about Cooper's Hawk!

Never disappointed with my meal or wine selection. Desert flight satisfies my sweet palette. No risk policy makes each experience fun.

Hand's down a fantastic place to relax and unwind! Service is always great and the food is so delicious. My husband and I go a couple times a month. We both get to enjoy the perks of my wine club membership. This place is always so enjoyable. Fantastic food and service!

Wow this place is beautiful!!!! I came in Thursday afternoon after my flight and had a few wine samples and ended up actually purchasing a couple bottles of wine. I can't speak any of the food, but the layout and the service I received was outstanding. When I come back to town I'll definitely have to make another stop in. Who knows maybe I'll even knock some lunch this go around.

We went on Tuesday night for my birthday. The hostess said a 45 minute wait. Okay, so I decided to try their $7 8-wine wine tasting (this was a good deal!). 3 wines in and 10 minutes later the table was ready. We were told the table will wait until we were done with the wine tasting. Well my fiance does not drink wine so he had to go to the table and wait for me to finish. I had to chug the rest of the wine. She skipped a wine too so I only got 7. I didn't say anything because I wanted to get to the table and pours were generous. The server was decent. Attentive, not too crowding. Our Sangria's were good as well. The food was okay. He said his prime rib sandwich was better at BJ's and the fries were not seasoned. My chicken saltimbocca was okay. Tender but not very flavorful. Also, the ramekin of ketchup that came out with the fries had 2 hairs intertwined with a piece of fuzz. Gross. Only noticed after I already dipped a fry. We told our server and then another man brought out new ketchup (manager?) and asked if something was in our ketchup and was it a hair. We told him it was and he dropped the ketchup and ran. As someone that has worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years including managing fine dining restaurants I felt that we should of been talked to a bit more than dropping a new ketchup off. I don't expect anything for free but even an introduction "Hi I'm the manager here and sorry about that, etc" would of been pleasant. We won't be back.
