I'm joining in a bit late but I hope not too late. I am also posting the outline in an effort to combine missions.
I wish to create an ebook of Survival Social English for my Business English students that will mainly focus on language they need for everyday communication when travelling or meeting with people in social contexts. More often than not they lack the language to interact and talk about, say, the weather, food, local customs and traditions. You could say that it looks like a General English book, but in most cases what these students need is the confidence to network and create strong business links or make new connections outside the working environment rather than the language they need to talk about their work within a business environment. Humour, which is one of their strong points in their native tongue, is another topic I'd like to include. I'd like to make the book interactive and add voicethread discussions as well. I think of it as a resource they can access from anywhere and use to practice on the go. #Wk2EbookOutline

I like your ideas. I especially like the videos with various accents. I think many books miss this which is the reality of their English learning experience.

Apologies I disappeared for the last 10 days but I had no laptop (had to have the screen replaced). I'm back now and feel a bit lost as week 3 is already underway. Can I go back to week 2 and start there? My other question is from week 1: Where do I get info about various creative commons licences? And are the hangouts/live sessions recorded and where can they be found? Thanks a million for your understanding!

Thank you  +Shelly Sanchez Terrell Weekends and in particular Sundays are the only days I can work on this. Very succinct. I hope I will get as much as I can from EVO. :)

I'm still in the process of trying to give my book a shape but I think the following CC licence will be more appropriate as I would like other educators to be able to add to any ideas/activities and share them in the same way (NonCommercially)

Great points. I think if you teach them as children they will more than likely continue this practice.

Hello everyone!

I am an EFL teacher and freelance translator from Athens, Greece and have been working for over 18 years in language institutes in Athens as a teacher and a Director of Studies. I currently work for Eurognosi, an educational organisation in Athens and spend my summers in the UK teaching multicultural classes both as a Senior Teacher for Cambridge Education Group summer schools and as an EAP part-time Lecturer at De Montfort University.

Teaching with technology has been the apple of my eye for the last 3 years and creating and adapting materials to fit my learners' needs have always been my goals. This course harmoniously blends these two.

I look forward to learning with you!

Silent Movies. I love to use short films in my classes. They add colour and variety to the lesson in a way that I've found students real
