FOR YOU GUITARISTS out there: Below is a link to wonderful, very detailed, and somewhat technical article on Peter Green and his incomparable style. Mr. Green (composer of "Black Magic Woman", and the founder of Fleetwood Mac when it was a three-guitar Blues/Rock Band) influenced many, many world-class musicians from B.B. King, Carlos Santana, Danny Kirwan, Gary Moore, Led Zeppelin, and Judas Priest to The Beatles. I -- Richard Rabatin -- started studying Peter Green when I was 16, and he is a continuing major influence on my musicianship a half century later; on occasion I still study his work. His compositions, vocals, guitar tone, intensity, phrasing, and many-styled vibratos from 1966-70 are generally superb; he is in his own class. (His intense dislike of the music industry and personal difficulties put his career on hold for decades.) I recommend the two CD set, John Mayall's "A Hard Road"; for those interested in serious study, there's a massive amount of gold in there to tap into. From Stonybrookmusic.com via FB.
