I love the fact that the American Craft Council now lets participants design their own postcards using the Craft Council logo. Thanks to the help of my DH, my cards are being printed. Hope to see some of you there.

My quilt "rainbows of autumn" just found a new home overlooking the hills ablaze with color. Sounds like the perfect location, doesn't it?

Starting a new quilt. A blog post.
I don't know about you but every once in a while I get an order that is just so special, I have to say yes. In this case it was from a lovely couple that I had never met before. OK--why was it special? You see years ago--like...

Another blog post--starting a new quilt.
Sometimes you know--you just have to start. Sure I have memorized the images of the space until I know the colors and the angles by heart. I have played with fabrics shopping for new ones and more of those I know want to use...

I am honored to have my quilt "Modern Red" included in Martha Sielman's latest book Art Quilt International: Abstract and Geometric. Can't wait until I get a chance to study all the images.

Don't you love the colors of this quilted table runner? So cheery but sure to match many decors. I made it by piecing and sewing thin strips of cotton fabric through the batting onto the back. Then I quilted the banks but let the river flow freely.

Story
Tagline
Quilts that push boundaries and explore new horizons.
Introduction
Color is everything. I am passionate about my unique and recognizable contemporary art quilts that use color, fabric and the traditions of quilt making to explore the prairies of Illinois where I grew up, the rolling hills of western Massachusetts where I now live and landscapes of my imagination. I constantly work with images of dawn and horizons--those places which hold so many possibilities.

Of course I do custom orders.

For more information check out my web site:

In my spare time I raise daylilies and iris.

Bragging rights
My work is in numerous public and private collections including the Museum of Art + Design in NYC, the Federal District Court House in Springfield, MA, the Lodge at Turning Stone, Verona, NY and Surdna Foundation in NYC. I have received the Award of Excellence at the Baltimore Fine Craft Show put on by the American Craft Council.
