I visited Stanton Optical using a Groupon which included a free eye exam, $200 toward one complete pair of new glasses and two boxes of contacts. I waited for two hours past the time of my exam to be seen. The whole exam was a total of 10 minutes. While I was waiting the two hours past my scheduled appointment time, the doctor was taking people ahead of me, who didn't have an appointment. In summary, with Groupon, I ended up paying over $200 for one pair of mediocre glasses, my eye appointment, and 4 boxes of disposable contacts. All of this should have been covered by the Groupon! I called the customer service number to express my dissatisfaction with my experience to which they supposedly credited me $75. I made a separate round trip (one hour each way) to use this credit and was told that there wasn't a credit and that I needed to call the customer service number (again). This time customer service rep told offered me a $25 credit. I asked her if my wasted time (soon to be a total in excess of 6 hours) was worth more than $25? She asked me if I thought I should be getting special treatment? Unfortunately, I will not be returning to use my $25 credit, nor would I recommend anyone else waste their time at Stanton Optical.

The staff member who assisted us in choosing frames and pricing for different options was very friendly and helpful. We were purchasing 4 pairs of glasses and 2 years' worth of contact lenses and they gave us a great deal. The disappointing factor was that between the optometrist and technicians taking care of our prescription, our glasses were a bit off as all 4 pairs came back with weaker prescriptions - which we were told was normal. If I return, I plan on explicitly asking for the correct prescription or stronger if it weakens as was explained to us.

Their phone reception is being done by someone who is either very intoxicated or suffering from severe brain damage. Contacts were done quickly but frames are STILL not ready after a week. Not to mention the price is insane compared to newer online outlets. NEVER AGAIN!

My experience at Stanton was great! I haven't had to get new glasses in almost 10 years so I went in having no idea what I wanted. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with in helping me find the right fit for me! They said it could take up to 14 business days to get my glasses in but they were in that week. They have great deals and good products I would definitely recommended them to anyone!

They don't deserve any stars and this is why...STAY AWAY FROM STANTON>>>>customers have no value here. I have had SEVERAL horrible experiences with Stanton Optical. The last one being: I went to take advantage of a 2 pair per year for 3 years offer. Keep in mind that this offer was extended to me as compensation for the initial POOR service I received. So this second time, I go in to the EAST store and pick out my frames only to be told oh...you can only pick frames for 99.00. This is the first I heard of this...so the free frames cost me 80.00 Ok...I move on and ask if I can take advantage of the buy 2 for 99.00 no line bifocals. only to be told they can't be combined with any other promotion. No problem can I use my insurance to pay for the lenses..." No offers can't be combined:. Now in my mind I am not combining any offers because you gave me free frames due to your horrible service!. I wait a while and call corporate and speak with Katrina who informs me yet again, I" can't combine 2 offers, I have to use value frames if I want to get the 2 pair for 99.00 no line bifocal special, No you can't use the free frames you PAID for, and No you can't return the "free " frames. So Now I am stuck with 2 pair of frames I can't use. I should have known better. My first encounter with Stanton Optical (West side office) last summer was as follows: I ordered 2 pair of glasses ( 1 paid for with my insurance) which took more that 3 months. A quick synopsis of the event: One pair of glasses came back as sunglasses and had to e sent back out for "light tint". The second pair of glasses , well the on site lab broke one of the lenses while cutting it even though I was told they were ready before I got there..smh I am still trying to figure out why they sent the glasses out and still have to complete them in the store. So I say to you Stanton Optical: 1 keep the other pairs of free glasses...the cost too much 2. when offering incentives via phone, please list all of the incentives as well as the restrictions 3. Please stop advertising the 2 pair specials with out letting the customer know that you will only allow them to get the cheap "Value" frames. 4. Last but not least, please stop putting your customers on hold for 20-30 minutes just to receive sub-par outcomes/solutions. 5.Your best moment is when your "corporate" customer service representatives tell customers " There is no body over me when asked ," Can I speak to your supervisor!" Then they direct you to call the store and ask for the "district manger" Maybe they will be of better assistance! Thanks So much Katrina for your help. Let's see if Alex (general mgr) will actually call back with a better resolution. I have 2 nice pairs of frames (1 pair guess and the other are Swedish) if anyone wants them....they are actually free! In box me if you would like them. The least they could have done was refund the money I paid for the FREE frames I got from them. Even thought it has been more than thirty days.

Overall experience was ok. We were left hanging after my son had his exam for contacts and finally had to ask if anyone was going to help us with ordering his glasses. Once we were finally directed to Bailee, she was amazing!

Went to Stanton on the east side, and, because my glasses were broken, told them I needed glasses right away, or I would have to go elsewhere. They promised me glasses the next day. I went to their on site Dr, and the was processed through in a very quick manner in under 5 minutes. When I came back the next day to get my glasses as promised they weren't finished. They gave me a $100.00 credit, and said they'd deliver the glasses the next night. The next night I received the glasses, and couldn't see out of them. I drove back (two hours round trip) again to tell them the glasses didn't work. They said they had been made correctly. Went in to their on site DR. again, and the doctor said the bi-focal was too high. Left the glasses to be remaid, and since it was a Friday, they said they would deliver them on Monday. Received the glasses late Monday night, and they were even worse. I called their customer service number, explained that I was promised glasses in one night, and after two attempts, and a week, still didn't have glasses, and that I wanted to get a refund. They said they would have to talk to someone and wouldn't get back to me for another 24 hours. I drove the two hour round trip back down to Stanton, and returned the glasses, but they would not give me a refund, basically stating that they were made correctly. I left the glasses there, but they would not sign a receipt for them. They would only sign that I had left my personal property, and they were not responsible for them if they were lost or broken. During this time, the store manager was in his office, but he refused to come out to see me. I went up to another eye Doctor at David Deuhr and Dean in Portage, and got a prescription that was completely different than the one that Stanton Optical gave me. To date I am out two pairs of glasses, and my money.

Where do I even begin? *The person posing as a nurse to get our medical history? That was a crime right off the bat. *They consistently lie to your face. *The price they quote you is less than a 1/4 of the bill they'll give you - we went in for the 2 for $69 and got stuck with a bill for over $500. *Did I mention how their sleazy sales staff lie? *Their long winded hard sales will cause a massive delay in your day. *And after all of that, I'm still waiting for the glasses! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE - They are scammers and criminals.
