Finally got enough stuff cleared off the to-do list that I could play around a bit with Yosemite and iOS8 betas. Confirmed the supposition I took from WWDC about Apple setting things up for some interesting hardware releases. Wouldn't think that at first if you just looked at the UI as there is a lot just catching up with Android at that level. It's the underlying plumbing changes that are far more interesting.
Most of the eye candy stuff that showed in iOS8. However, the really interesting stuff was the things added to support continuity, passthrough, and the new services to support ApplePay, Heathkit, and such.
