Exterior was sort of off-putting when we first arrived but don't be fooled! The hotel has fast and easy to use Wi-Fi, classy amenities and the rooms are very comfortable. Don't miss breakfast either! Cooked hot and fresh!
Response from the owner - a month ago
Martin, Thank you so much for the kind words and the 5 stars! One of our intentions was to provide and unexpected experience for our guests, and the interior vs. exterior part never disappoints! I'm also so happy to hear you enjoyed the breakfast, and WI-FI, how did we live without that before?! I hope your travels home were safe ones, and that if you're back in the area, you'll once again be our guest. Yours in hospitality, Cory Latourell General Manager

I want to thank the staff at Hotel Marshfield for making my extended stay so nice. The room was wonderful, clean with plenty of linen. I was enjoyed that every time I came back in the three months I was there everything smelled clean. Clayton deserves a special shout-out for all his help and being so friendly and prepared when I checked in. If I'm ever in the Marshfield address again I know exactly where I will be staying. Thank you.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Debra, Thank you so much for the kind review. We've truly enjoyed have you as one of our 'regulars'! I'm thrilled to give Clayton a high 5 this afternoon ~ I appreciate the shout out. We certainly hope our paths will cross again down the road. Until then, safe travels and best wishes. Cory Latourell General Manager

Beautiful and modern hotel! They offer Tesla and Volt/Leaf charging stations which is the main reason we are blocking off hotels here for our wedding guests this Autumn. Also had a birthday event here last year and it was very well done with a ton of accommodations for a non-business event. Will be definitely bringing more business here in the future!
Response from the owner - 4 months ago
Brady, Thank you so much for the kind review! I'm happy to hear you located and can use the Tesla charging stations, we've truly embraced our Travel Green Wisconsin status, and this was one more addition we hoped would appeal to our guests. I'm also thrilled to hear you've had some events and are looking to place more! Just let us know what we can do to make things easier for you, we're just a phone call away! Yours in hospitality, Cory Latourell General Manager

I was Maid of Honor in a wedding this past weekend. I was trying my best to assist in everything so the weekend went without mishap and with great ease. I was very disappointed with the communication issues between staff at Hotel Marshfield. The event manager would say one thing and then do another like say they wouldn't be any events booked the day before the wedding and then book one pushing our decorating time late into the evening at 11pm the day before. Our group showed up at 11pm to decorate only to find nothing arranged correctly, the staff unaware we were coming, being told we were not priority at this moment, linens needed to decorate either being used or washed thus further delaying our decorating. We didn't end up leaving until 130am on the day of the wedding! Talk about unneeded stress and chaos before your own wedding day. I am further troubled to hear that the General Manager and Event Manager were less than respectful or accommodating to the bride, her husband, and mother during discussions of disappointment. I would not recommend Hotel Marshfield for large events or weddings.

I had my wedding here this past weekend. The wedding day itself was great, the food was good and everything Saturday went off without a hitch. The hotel is extremely modern and very pretty for an event like this. The problem was Friday night. We were told initially that we could decorate any time Friday because they don't book events on the day before the wedding. Then a few weeks before the wedding we found out there was an event, so we were told we could decorate now Friday night at 11pm after the event. We showed up at 11 to decorate and the staff had nothing done and were extremely rude to us about it. The decorating should have taken an hour or less but we didn't get out until 130am Saturday morning of the wedding and we were even helping put table cloths on tables and move chairs to get things going faster. Monday after the wedding we wanted to meet with the general manager Cory to talk about how rude her staff were to us. When we met with her she was extremely rude and disrespectful to me, my husband, and my mother. She would not apologize for the miscommunication with decorating times Friday night and even swore a few times during our conversation. We got no apologies and no compensation for our trouble and extreme added undue stress Friday night. Even without compensation, an apology would have been sufficient but we got nothing. I am super disappointed how everything happened Friday night and Monday during our meeting and for this alone would not recommend doing business for a large event or any event with hotel marshfield. Though Saturday was great, Friday put an awful taste in my mouth and when the disrespect continued Monday afternoon with the general manager I was shocked at how I was treated overall as a customer.

Beautiful venue. Service prompt and friendly. Food was really good... except I wouldn't recommend the fried avocado slices. Location was right next to the zoo which was slightly out of town, but not unreasonably so.

Wow. Very nice. Newly remodeled, up-scale, sophisticated, lobby, restaurant and meeting space. Room and bath was elegant and spa-like. Staff, all very nice. We do a fair amount of business travel. This was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Recommend.

Disclaimer: I work in the luxury hotel industry, and this review is long overdue. That said, Hotel Marshfield provided an extremely satisfactory experience going above and beyond the requirements for their rating level. My one small complaint is that I called the Front Desk and requested two champagne glasses be delivered to the room, and they never showed up. Perhaps the hotel does not make a habit of delivering glasses to the rooms, but it would have been nice to have been informed of that rather being told "we'll have the bar bring them right up." Our "Executive King" room was sparkling clean with acceptable collateral. It was my husband's birthday and they delivered a tray of cookies and a handwritten note minutes after check-in. Breakfast was included at the in-house restaurant and we dined there for dinner one evening as well. Our dinner server was gracious enough to seat and serve us even at the tail-end of their hours, and the food was true Wisconsin deliciousness. Did not have a chance to use the pool as it was mid-October and we neglected to bring bathing suits, but the courtyard looked very well-maintained and the pool area was clean.

Dear Hannah, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review AND for the 5 stars! I appreciate the detail in your review, it truly allows us to correct any deficiencies and celebrate successes, so thank you for that. Comments are extra special when coming from someone in the industry, I know how detailed our 'eye' can be when at someone else's property! I'm so sorry for the hiccup on the champagne flutes. There's no good reason for that, we have plenty here and are used to handling that type of stemware. So, absolutely meeting with the team to see where the misstep happened. I'll share your comments about Libby's with Chef Wally and team, they work hard to provide Wisconsin comfort food options and are truly passionate about what they present to our guests! Thank you for being our guest Hannah, we truly hope we'll see you again as your travel permits. Yours in hospitality, Cory Latourell General Manager
