Arrived for drinks on a Saturday afternoon and was let in. Sat down at a table and waited for a server. 10 minutes later we went to the bar to be served due to no server coming by. The bartender didn't serve us because we were at a table, and all the bar stools were full. Waited another 5-10 minutes for a server to come by, only to be told the tables were for customers who were eating only and walked away. An extra slap in the face...nearly all the tables were vacant. Left immediately after this. Not recommended. Plenty of friendly bars on the same street.

We stopped by on a Tuesday, so it was probably less lively than it is on the weekend. While I can't comment on the food (just a salad) the service was really friendly and what not. I would definitely go back on a weekend if you're looking for more of a crowd

I have been here twice now and I can honestly say I have not had any problems with this place at all. How can you go wrong with a place in which you order four 16 oz coors light drafts and a coke and the bartender says thats $9.00!! I mean thats incredibly reasonably priced. So yes go for the $1.50 16 oz coors light drafts and you can get very drunk for under 15 bucks. Although the place is small, if your more into the non-deushbag crowd and hanging out with more down to earth people then this is the place for you. they also have a small dancefloor which usually never gets too crowded. i therefore highly recomend this place if you want to hang out with a group of friends and actually be able to hear what they have to say. the purple shamrock has a great atmosphere and is a great way to meet some of the most friendly people in boston
