Ever since my brother (sadly deceased) was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease I have actively raised money for the MND Scotland charity. I have taken the occasional break when my son and daughter were born and also more recently my focus changed to raising money for Childrens Hospice Appeal Scotland (my friends son was born with Otahara syndrome and received much needed care from this charity. Flynn sadly passed away last April).
So I have walked, cycled, baked, donated and participated whenever I could. Next year I am climbing Mt Kilimanjaro for MND Scotland and I am looking to raise a truckload (if I can)to help MND Scotland provide the care and support to hundreds of people affected by this horrible disease.
Many of you have participated in an ice bucket challenge over the summer and helped raise money and indeed the profile of the charities (known as ALS in America and Australia). Whilst I cant comment on what the funding means outside of Scotland I do know that this one single viral event has raised over £400,000 for the charity, and will go along way to help providing the care needed as well as research (non animal tested BTW). MND Scotland relies on charitable donations and fundraising to provide 95% of its budget (5% comes from government and NHS).
Please help my by donating what you can when you can , by sharing this with everyone you can. If you live in the Falkirk/Edinburgh/Isle of Bute areas keep your eyes peeled for raffles, quiz nights, events.

Oh and if your local I have made some rather tasty chilli jam and blackberry jam £2 a jar all proceeds to the charity.
