Cozy choice for Chinese noodle soups & other eats, such as green onion pancakes & skewers.- Google
"I'm kind of affixed to the fried dumplings and beef noodle soup."
"The green onion pancakes were fantastic!"

Excellent Chinese hand-pulled noodles by Austin standards. I'd still give the nod to Xian over them, but they're pretty good. Things I've tried: Stir Fried Noodles (炒刀削麵): The excellent noodles are let down by the sauce, which tastes rather American and generic, but fortunately you can remedy this by generously sprinkling on some of their rather good hot sauce from the counter. Lamb Noodle Soup (羊肉刀削面): The meat is tough but the soup isn't bad. Also helped by spooning in a bit of the hot sauce.

I arrived quarter to 1 o’clock on a Thursday afternoon and the place were packed no seating available at the time. The restaurant is very small probably can only seat 20 people and it is very cramped. I waited more than 30 minutes without my food so I went to check on my order. I guess they forgot about me. There is only one cook in the kitchen it is obviously too much for him to handle during rush hours. There are a lot of to go orders as well. I ordered the beef noodle soup and the stir fried noodle. Their beef is slice thin and very tough to chew. The broth is clear and not braised which is what I prefer. I do like their knife cut thick noodle which is very hard to make and find. The stir fried noodle is lack of flavor. I can’t tell what is lacking. I just do not enjoy it as much as I would like to. Maybe that is because I had much better ones in Los Angeles and Houston. I will say Chen’s noodle is definitely better than Julie’s handmade noodle. If you like Chinese noodle dish this is probably the place to go in Austin right now. It is just too much hassle for me to visit Chen. Asia Café is just next door. They are fast and roomy and they have pretty good beef noodle soup too.

I think I went on an off day and that I'll need to come back and give it another try. The green onion pancakes were fantastic! The lamb noodle wasn't very flavorful that night and I think that they were short staffed that night.

Definitely authentic. Some flavors I've never tasted before. Delicious homemade noodles. Lovely.

Not my favorite place, but it's ok if you're craving noodles. I'd recommend: - lamb skewers - sesame pockets with beef - leek & pork noodles - stir fry knife cut noodles Small place with limited seating & no bathrooms. Not much air conditioning.

If you are in search for fresh, made-from-scratch noodles Chen's Noodle House is the best place to go to! Upon walking in, it's a small noodle house with VERY limited seating. I love that the entrees are displayed over the ordering window. I recommend the Northern Dumpling Soup or the Beef Noodle Soup. All their dishes are heavily spiced and yummy! Pricing per bowl starts at about $7 and can range to $10, but they are worth it! Bowls are filled to capacity with whatever item you order accompanied with a very tasteful broth and fresh noodles! You will get full and not be able to finish what you ordered. On the side table, they offer free oolong tea! I love this place! I'll give 4 out of 5 stars as they didn't offer ice water which is standard. It was in a stand-up jug cooler at room temperature.
