We received this message from the Alliance of Long Island Agencies (ALIA) who express disappointment at the poor reaction to the Syracuse Post Standard petition (currently at 4,924 signatures). Please see if you can pass the word to as many members of the DD community as you can to sign this petition so we can show our strength in numbers, prior to the projected January 21 release date of the NYS 2014-2015 Budget / Executive Version :

If you have signed the online petition asking the Governor not to propose or support cuts in funding to supports and services for people with developmental disabilities, THANK YOU! If you have not, please click on the link below and do it today, then send this to everyone you know and ask them to add their names. It takes less than a minute.

We need to illustrate that people with disabilities, their families and those who support them are united in supporting this message. We have hundreds of thousands of people across the state who support our goal of no more cuts, yet fewer than 5,000 people have taken less than a minute to join in and support this effort. We can do much better than that. Please help spread the word.

I advocate tablets for everyone, but especially those that help children with autism have a voice.

I like the effort but I would also like to educate the author. The use of the phrase "autistic people" makes me uncomfortable. No one should be defined by their disorder. They are people with autism.

It's been a little while dear Google+, but fear not, for I have not forgotten you.

Welcome and thanks to all the people that have circled me. It is an honor.

Everyone should have a laminated pocket version of this as a reminder to make better decisions NOW to build the future you want.
