My boyfriend brought me here for a birthday lunch, on a Monday. The bartender / server was nothing but exciting and attentive. He made a great cocktail and an even better impression. Not only was the atmosphere unique and welcoming but the food was fantastic. This will definitely become a new staple in my Philly recommendations.

Stopped in on a random weekday because of the live jazz near the door, which was very enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy in an original or historic turn of the century space. Service was very polite and attentive. I ate a special that was just OK. I would return to try it again.

We felt so lucky to have stumbled across this bar! We almost went into the Irish bar next door until we smelled cigarette smoke--Yuck! Sassafrass was a delightful bar with a great atmosphere and vibe! We loved the prohibition-era feel to the place. Great music. Well-crafted cocktails and a great ladies room, which someone described as a small studio apartment!

The atmosphere is cool, the food is good, furniture is a little stiff but that's part of the experience, repeat customer, try the pretzel mac and cheese.

Sassafras hasn't shared anything with you.
People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
