Avast!
Greetings one and all. Thank you to all the venues who allowed us to take over for a short time, thank you to all the people and businesses that were generous enough to donate prizes for the raffle, and of course, thank you to everybody who turned out and helped make it such a fantastic day! As always our collection will go to the RNLI, however this year the proceeds will be split between the two local stations, Exmouth on one side, and Teignmouth on the other.

We have the final count, and I can tell you, this year is a record breaker. I really am very happy to announce the Exeter Pirate Day 2014 total is £1006.30 That's the most we have ever made!

This year we are starting a new tradition, the top performing venue for raffle ticket sales, and the top performing venue for bucket collection will be given a place of honour here on our front page, and on our Facebook, and Google+ pages too. This years top venue for ticket sales is The Well's Tavern, and the top venue for bucket collection was The Beer Cellar (both by quite a margin too), thanks guys and well done.

Myself and the officers are looking forward to seeing you all on the 19th of September 2015 (Scheduled to coincide with International Talk Like A Pirate Day as always). All will be welcome, Ye don't even need to dress like a pirate, but ye will have much more fun if ye do. Talking like a pirate is of course necessary, but that matters not because after a few short moments with my crew ye'll be an expert. If ye do want to join us just sign up to the newsletter, and I'll personally see to it ye know what will be a happening and when.

Arrrrrrg!

Avast!

A full and hearty thank you to all who attended Exeter Pirate Day this year, and an even bigger thank you to all who were good enough to sponsor us, without whom the day would not be possible.

The final count is not in yet as we are all invited (in full regalia) to the Ship Inn, Martin's Lane (where we had the fantastic mid-route feast) for their big Birthday bash on Friday (the 27th), and we will try and add some more pieces of eight to the count. If you are still feeling even slightly Pirate like, please do put the kit back on and join us, I will be there from around 2:30 to 3 with others joining as they can.

The count so far is £500, sadly this would have been almost two hundred pounds more, but a business who had promised us sponsorship for a few things (including the end of night band) reneged on the deal and decided they would rather keep the money themselves than see it go to a good cause. This left us with no option but for the main committee to make personal donations ourselves and make up the remaining amount from the collection. We have already put measures in place to ensure this type of thing doesn't happen again.

If anybody has any photo's or video from the day, can they please send them to photos@Exeter-Pirate-Day.com(even bad ones, I can fix a lot of problems), Thank you.

Mark the19th in your diary for next year, and tell your friends.

Prepare ye all for some nautical madness, we are less than one week to go before Exeter Pirate Day!

I am happy to announce we now have a few extra late prizes for the draw (tickets available in advance, and on the day)

Regalia is preferred as always, and you will have much more fun with it, but as long as you have a go at talking like a pirate you will be made welcome.

A cannon will be added to our arsenal this year, so that be something to keep a lookout fore.

The full revised route is available over at http://localhost/exeter-pirate-day.com/route.php tell all yer friends.

Enjoy yerselves, and the Cap'in is a lookin' forward to seein' ye all!
