For several years I've celebrated my birthday at this location with close friends and family. Service was always fantastic except for our last visit December 20th. The waiter assigned to our party of 14 was awful! We had to ask for the manager 3+ times. No drink refills for water or sodas, many in our group were drinking alcohol and we're not offered to get another, they took my water glass twice and left me with nothing, my husband had his glass taken away and when asked for another we watched the waiter empty out a glass holding napkin wrapped silverware and pour water into it (gross!), food service was super slow, we would ask for more of one item but receive another item that we never asked for. Normally we leave big tips, but considering the awful service we experienced, we left a 10% tip.... the waiter was clearly unhappy with his tip and proceeded to show colleagues his tip and was mad about it. We have never experienced such lousy service and honestly we were tempted to leave nothing. It is highly unlikely we will ever return to this location. The managers should have addressed the issue the first time we reported our disatiafaction in the service provided... seriously filling a water glass shouldn't be something we should have to ask a manager for 3 times!!!

Consistency is key at Maggiano's Little Italy. I've been here for personal and private meal functions. Every visit is like the first when it comes to the quality of the food. The service can vary based on the server and time of day. If you're going for lunch or an early dinner, you can normally walk in and be seated with a party of six or less. You should make a reservation if you're going for dinner from 7-8:30. It get's pretty busy. If you're confused about what to order, stick with the Classic Pasta selections. You have one meal prepared for you in the restaurant and they give you another to take home at no additional charge!

Wonderful experience. Very family oriented and great for a date as well. The setting is extremely exquisite and fine. The food is very good, not excellent but definitely worth it. Great prices, completely affordable

When i learned that I was invited to attend my first alumni event at Maggiano's, I was ecstatic since my husband had long raved about this chain (many memories of fraternity dinners and gatherings back in his good old college days). And knowing that Maggiano's is often compared to Camine's and Buca di beppe - humongous portion intended to be shared family style - I knew not only would I be wobbling out with a food baby but also many, MANY boxes of leftovers aka midnight snacks. Since it was a large group dinner, we were given the group menu which was pre-selected by our event coordinator. Our menu included 4 appetizers, 4 main courses, and 2 desserts. Our first course: Caesar salad, candied walnut salad, fried calamari, and bruschetta were all presented at once. The salads and bruschetta were just okay. I did however enjoy the fried calamari especially with their marinara dip. Not too greasy and stayed extra crispy - you can literally hear the crunch with every bite. I believe I demolished the plate for my table. Our main courses included mama's lasagna, the house made special pasta, pork loin, and tilapia. Again, only one of four stood out . Mama's lasagna was spot on. Layers of generous serving of meat sauce and ricotta - so so good. If only they can pour a bit more of the meat sauce on top = perfection. The other three dishes were disappointing however. The special pasta and tilapia were really bland. The pork loin and tilapia were beyond dry. But that's ok, I had the leftover lasagna from the other table too. For desserts, chocolate cake and apple crostada were served. My husband stressed and stressed that I had to bring home an apple crostada before the dinner. After taking my first bite, I finally understood why. The warm, sugar coated, flaky crust was money. The apple filling was perfectly sweetened. The scoop of vanilla ice cream was the cherry on top. The chocolate cake was a bit too rich for my taste. It actually reminded me of the chocolate gauche cake from Trader's Joe's . Overall, dinner was good but not great. There were hits but lots of misses. Service was a bit slow - they only assigned two people to serve + bartend for a room of 20+ ppl. Additionally, I didn't like the fact that the servers began clearing our tables to make room for the next course when some of our dishes were obviously not eaten/touched. I wished that they asked or at least offered to bag some of the food home - so much food wasted! They do offer amazing deal so I can see myself returning with my husband who adores this chain. But definitely will stick to my fried calamari, lasagna, and apple crostada at next visit!

Went here once for a quick bite before a movie. Mo was our waiter. He provided fantastic suggestions and service and adhered to our needs for fast service. I loved the atmosphere and style of the restaurant. I had no qualms about the food and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I'll be coming here again in the near future!

Great food and great time... The wait staff was great and the food was delicious... The chef for the evening even came out to greet us for it was our first time dining and gave us a sample of an appetizer as a courtesy... Absolutely a place to go back too. Can't wait for the one in Columbia to open

Service was just right. At 7pm on a Wednesday our waiter was efficient, friendly, and prompt. Main courses were tasty but not particularly fantastic; rather than letting flavors come through, everything glistened with butter and/or oil and tasted incredibly rich. I've paid less for freshly-made pasta in restaurants that didn't believe in heat lamps... but I guess those establishments didn't have to cover rent in Friendship Heights. Their house aperitif, on the other hand, was just delightful.
