Surgery has come and gone, and I'm recovering nicely. I'm having a benefit called INSANE IN THE BRAIN on July 12th at Lee's Liquor Lounge with live bands starting at 6:00pm. There will be a Silent Auction and Bake Sale too. It's a 21+ event, featuring the Marvelously Adequate Band, Bellydance Troupe-HipNaughtyK, the Dregs, Trailer Trash, and the Jillion Rae Band! Call me for more info  (c) 612-275-8561. Or just show up!

I've recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. No Joke. It's called an acoustic neuroma. A fairly rare tumor, growing on/around the nerve of my right ear. It's pretty large though, and I have to have it operated on really soon. The surgery's scheduled for the 5th of April at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
The good news: The tumor is benign, meaning it hasn't invaded the rest of my body. Yay! Bad news: Ironically even though I feel just fine at the moment, after the surgery I will positively and unavoidably have complete hearing loss in my right ear. Harumph. There is also a possibility of facial paralysis, but I've been told there's less than a 20% chance of that... yay?
Sorry if I haven't told everyone right when I found out; Lately when I've been seeing everybody it's been at a birthday party, or some fun event where I don't want to highjack the whole evening with depressing news and make it about myself. The neurosurgeon who last saw the MRI told me that I've had this stow away in my head for at least ten years. Well that explains quite a bit, right!
I will keep you informed with more news, such as visiting hours, if interested. I'll most likely be in the hospital for a week, and then out of action for at least a month/perhaps more.
I am optimistic and hopeful, especially with the support of great friends and family like you.
P.S. I've been trying to get my contacts updated since my latest phone lost all of them, but haven't been able to do so. If you are going to text me, please include your NAME, otherwise I will not know who you are.
