I have an MFA from SCAD in Sequential Art, which means I'm highly educated in the art of drawing funny picture books. I specialize in comics aimed at young girls, and  enjoy the finer things in life- seinen manga, whiney autobio graphic novels, and science fiction.

I'm a native to Louisiana, the New Orleans area, and found the food lacking. I had the gumbo as an appetizer, which was server in a mug for some strange reason. It was loaded with green onions which is not traditional and did not enhance the flavor. It was goopy and lumpy over all and grossly sour. The rice ratio was wrong as well, but the rice was cooked fine. For dinner I had the vegetarian ravioli, which was lacking in flavor and not worth the price. My significant other who was also a native to Louisiana had the Jambalaya which was the sticky variety (which was not soupy like some places strangely serve) rather than the dry. It was okay. The meat was cooked well though poorly seasoned. The rice was good and had a good flavor. Portion was good for the price.

Planet Fun is a fantastic shop, selling not only used videogames, nostalgic toys, and comics, but also the work of local artists. The owner of the shop is extremely knowledgable and both charges and pays a fair price for the wares he's buying or selling. Whenever I'm on Broughton Street, I try to make it a point to check out what's new at Planet Fun. If you're looking for a well curated manga selection, Planet Fun is a great choice. The used books are very affordable, and the selection is continually growing. I always find something to add to my collection.
