IRELAND BACKPACKER TOURS: SHAMROCKER ADVENTURES 5 DAY IRELAND TOUR
Most of the time, I travel on my own. I spent two years backpacking in South America, Mexico and Central America, so I have no problem travelling solo – in fact, I love it! However, on my recent trip to Ireland, I only had a few days to try and fit in as much as possible, so I decided to take a 5 day tour of Ireland with Shamrocker Irish Adventures. Shamrocker Adventures arrange escorted coach tours of Ireland for backpackers and budget travellers, so I was excited to see what was on offer. After my 5 day trip, I found that these Ireland backpacker tours give you a great taste of the Emerald Isle without breaking the bank! Here’s my full review of the Shamrocker Adventures 5 Day Ireland Tour, the Celtic Rocker.

AFTERNOON TEA AT THE TITANIC MUSEUM – A DELICIOUS AFTERNOON TEA IN BELFAST

I adore afternoon tea. I’ve had delicious afternoon teas in cities all over the UK including some of the best afternoon teas in York, and a themed afternoon tea in London, so when I read about afternoon tea at the Titanic Museum in Belfast, I knew I had to give it a try. There are lots of options for afternoon tea in Belfast, but none quite as iconic as at the Titanic Museum! Here is my full review of afternoon tea at the Titanic Belfast, including all the information you will need to book your afternoon tea experience.

INCREDIBLE BELFAST STREET ART YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

Everyone in the UK (and beyond) has heard about the political murals in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In fact, that was pretty much the only thing I knew about Belfast before I came here. However, after spending several days exploring the city, I discovered that there is far more to Belfast than it’s difficult past. Yes, the murals are still there, but there is a buzzing street art scene which has emerged in Belfast, where a different kind of art is taking over from the traditional political murals. Walking around the Cathedral Quarter, I was blown away by the Belfast street art all over the walls, so I’ve put together a collection of my favourite pieces of street art in Belfast.

EATING LOCAL FOOD & DRINK

Eating local food and drink when you travel is one of the best ways to understand more about the culture and the people of the place you are visiting. How could you not try fish and chips in England or tacos in Mexico? However, how you find the best local food isn’t always easy – especially in popular tourist destinations. Try some of these fabulous foodie experiences to help you taste the very best of a region. If you are on a budget then local food is often the cheapest, but if you can stretch your budget a little, good food & drink is always worth paying for -especially when made from quality ingredients by a local chef!

A SECRET FOOD TOUR IN LONDON
Oh food how I love thee, let me count the ways… well, I won’t count them all, but trust me, there are many! Even when I’m in my home country of England I love trying local specialities and finding the best places to chow down on different dishes and familiar favourites. When I was in my own capital city of London with +wombatshostels I was intrigued to see how British food would be portrayed so I joined a Secret Food Tour in London, to taste the best of British food in the city.

WHERE’S WAGNER: A WOMBAT’S TOUR OF VIENNA IN 2 DAYS
This was my second trip to Vienna, but it had been a while since my last visit. I couldn’t remember much about Vienna so I was glad to have a guide to show me around the city for a couple of days and help me to discover the best places to visit in Vienna in 2 days. His name is Wagner, and he is a wombat.

WATCHING SHAKESPEARE AT THE ROSE THEATRE YORK

Shakespeare has come to York. I was really in York to find delicious food, but when Ana from Visit York told me that I could watch Shakespeare I couldn’t resist! The Rose Theatre York is a pop-up theatre that is just here for 10 weeks over the summer and is a fantastic opportunity to see one of Shakespeare’s plays in a unique setting in York.
