Set during the aftermath of war, this moving drama looks at the human cost associated with the rituals of battle. The new adaptation from Jennifer Mickelson revisits Greek dramatist Euripides' The Suppliant Women, which takes place following the siege of Thebes. Dead warriors go unburied and their grieving wives and mothers petition Theseus to intervene. But who is using who? Rites and Sacrifices explores the importance of funeral rites and the distance survivors will go to reclaim bodies for proper burial.

Zurich, 1904:  Sigmund Freud’s intellectual successor, Carl Jung, tests his adopted mentor’s theoretical treatment on a brilliant young hysteric named Sabina.  As doctor and patient cross the forbidden boundary into lovers under the creeping shadow of two World Wars, all three are drawn into an intense and complex web that will eventually give birth to modern psychoanalysis – as well as its first great schism.

An honestly-played moment can transport both artist and audience to another world.
Introduction
Idle Muse Theatre Company recognizes that, as a people, we spend our lifetimes exploring what it means to define our identities in a world that is constantly struggling to do the same. As we do so, that world becomes an expression of our internal struggles, writ large. We produce plays which explore and examine the circular relationship between the individual and the world; plays about individuals who are called upon to define themselves in relation to a larger political or social context.
