Our ancient ancestors set up laws for behavior and rights within their communities. Over time, the communities that had no established laws or 'rights', (or really bad ones) tended not to survive. It follows that the communities that survived used their natural tendency to set up and agree upon 'rights'. God was not necessary and our rights are natural. Even wolf packs establish 'natural rights' that are understood within the pack. Our capacity to organize is not less than theirs is.
