SOFREP's Betrayal
Just to make my position very clear. I wrote for SOFREP from May 2014 until I resigned on 31 May
2016. Even at that time, sofrep had a terrible reputation within the Special
Forces community. My goal was to learn as much as I could about this new
medium, at...

Stolen Valor

This may come as a relief to some, I am not just talking about terrorist, I may refer to them but they are not the primary subject. For some reason this has been hot in my being, I am just having a hard time shaking it. I am referring to jackasses who lie and say they are vets who served in wars all over the planet. I credit them in that they don't take on the persona of an everyday joe, no they go all out. Sometimes, they make themselves Navy Seals, Special Forces, Delta force, Marine Recon, Fighter pilots. Sometimes it is even worse, they don't create some fictitious identity of a special seal team 23 delta secret CIA operator transformer. They find the profile of a real vet and steal his identity. To make a bad situation even worse some of their favorite targets are the heroes that were killed in action.

The reasons are pretty simple, some of the jack asses figure this is a great way to get credit cards in someone else's name, free drinks at the bar, and maybe get laid. Some of the other reasons are, they are not happy with the fact they have no job, no girl or anything real to be proud of, they still live with their momma. They are amazed how much respect they get when they tell a little fib about being a hero in the war. Hell, it gives them an excuse to live with their momma, so she can take care of all his problems. This is very intoxicating, they have never had pride in anything before. Some of the criminals are able to keep the identities separate because it is all about what they can get out of it, stuff, drinks, discounts or ass. Other of the criminals get caught up in the recognition to the point their weak brains actually convince them that is who they are. So in their little weak little brains, they are the veteran. Many of these poor guys will even have problems attributed with all the horrific action they did not see. Hell, these poor sacks of worthless cat poo, might even have PTSD. Now please don't get me wrong I am not a nice comforting therapist, not at all, I still think they are worthless sacks of shit and should be beat until the really have PTSD.

Reference the all of the vets with a rucksack full of ghosts, demons and skeletons torturing them because of what they saw and did: If I was able, I would gladly transfer all of these dark memories to these sorry sacks of shit. I think that is a fitting punishment, they want to pretend to carry the burden, let ‘em. I wish I could transfer all the pain and depression form the real heroes to these sacks of shit. If I were to ever master that skill, I would finish it off by transferring the pain and anger from the family members, friends, brothers in arms. I am sure they would break quickly with any of one of these. If they had any intestinal fortitude this would not be an issue to start with. However, these spineless sack of shit are so fucking lazy they cant live their own life, so they steal others.

Since the above is not a possible, maybe sentence them to work at the veterans home. They would have no contact with any of the patients because he did not deserve to interact with heroes. He could sweep, clean bathrooms, and wash dishes.
