Only claim a condition as secondary if you have a statement from a physician that clearly states that the arthritis in the neck is "more likely than not" caused by your lower back. To be honest, this is not a very logical deduction, so I'd be surprised if you can find a doctor that would agree that your neck is secondary to your low back. If, though, you had DDD in your neck while in the military and it is on record, then you can claim it independently of the low back.

Most likely, you will be rated on limited motion. Without knowing your exact range of motion, I can't say exactly what you'll be rated, but you can find the different options here:

Now, you MAY qualify for dislocation instead, but your condition would have to be pretty severe to warrant this rating, and just based on what you said, I don't think this will be the case.

The left hip will also be rated on any limited motion with a 10% minimum for pain with motion.

The Chief Executive Officer of www.MilitaryDisabilityMadeEasy.com
Introduction
As a retired Air Force Colonel and physician, I am a Military Disability and VA Disability specialist. As a physician, I have specialties in preventive medicine, occupational medicine, and healthcare administration. While on active duty, I had direct responsibility over preventive medicine for all military members in deployed environments and contingency operations. Since retiring, I have worked as a contractor for the Physical Disability Board of Review (PDBR), reviewing military disability cases, and for the VA, performing C&P exams.

I launched MilitaryDisabilityMadeEasy.com in March 2013 to help disabled American veterans take control of their disability and ensure that they receive the proper VA disability benefits.
