A former Naval Aviator (A-4 Skyhawks off the USS Hancock), Dick is a commercial-rated pilot and now flies a 1948 Luscombe for recreation.
Other interests include beekeeping (he has five hives), butterflies, wood cutting/splitting, local food, and sustainable living.
Dick is active with a local affordable housing organization, the Central Vermont Community Land Trust, chairing their board. He is a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Montpelier and maintains their website (http://christchurchvt.org/
Dick and Mary own a 1999 Airstream Safari and travel to the Southwest during the winter, blogging at http://vtairstreaming.blogspot.com/
He and his wife have four grandchildren and live with a Vizsla named Penny.
