What's new with you?

Do you know this?
ALL SCRIPTURE is given by
inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped
for every good work." (2Tim.
3:15-16) Paul writing to Timothy
instructs him that "all Scripture"
is inspired by YHVH. This epistle
to Timothy was penned
approximately 66-67CE. At this
time there were no such Scriptures compiled as what we
would call the "New
Testament". Therefore, Paul is
telling Timothy to use the "Old
Testament" for these four
important points: 1. DOCTRINE
2. REPROOF
3. CORRECTION
4. INSTRUCTION IN
RIGHTEOUSNESS The "Old Testament", or the
"Torah, Writings, Prophets",
according to the apostle Paul
should be used for our Biblical
measuring stick when it comes
to evaluating what truth is. Again, lets go to the book of
Acts and find out how the
Bereans validated the apostle
Paul: "Then the brethren immediately
sent Paul and Silas away by
night to Berea. When they
arrived, they went into the
synagogue of the Jews. These
were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that
they received the word with all
readiness, and SEARCHED THE
SCRIPTURES daily to find out
whether these things were
so." (Acts 17:10-11) Notice that those believers in
Berea were testing Paul's
message of the gospel with "the
Scriptures". The only Scriptures
that the Bereans possessed was
what we call today the "Old Testament," or the "Torah,
Writings, Prophets". Paul was
not evaluated upon the "New
Testament" since it was not
available at this time nor would
be for hundreds of years for its compilation. We should use the same method
of evaluating our pastors,
teachers, evangelists, prophets,
and ministers the same way
Paul instructed Timothy to do,
and the example of how the Bereans would validate the
apostle Paul - that being the
"Torah, Writings, and Prophets"
or the "Old Testament". Be blessed this day

You adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is the enmity with God? Whowsoever therefore will be a friend of the world is enermy of God.
