For meaty soul food, look no further. Bodeans is a distilled version of the best BBQ style food America has to offer. Pulled pork, burnt ends, spicy chicken, burgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, ribs... This is no place for a vegan. The place gets hugely busy in the evenings and you often end up waiting a long time for service if you're really determined. The upstairs makes a lot more sense now that they've introduced table service, and the staff are pretty good. If you don't want to share a table with strangers (which is part of the fun really) then there's a more traditional dining affair downstairs, though it's smart to book ahead.

Nice place - helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Was recommended to me for its burgers. Good value however burger was less juicy than expected. Disappointed so will consider going again

Get your Man vs Food fix at Bodean's BBQ and take on your very own mega food challenge. The Southern style BBQ here is top notch and they offer all the usual favourites from brisket to ribs. Make sure you save some room for deserts and clear your schedule so you can spend the next week running to burn off all the extra weight you will have piled on.

This place was doing pulled pork years ago. Great food, big portions and friendly attentive staff. A true American feel about the place not the tacky imitations of other places.

Very disappointed. Food was well over priced and over cooked, the sides (I had chips) were the cheap kind you get in a fried chicken shop. They put a mandatory 12.5 percent service charge, which in our case meant we had to give them a 7 pound tip, which stung as the service was rubbish. Asked for some extra blue cheese with the starters. Came out after we'd finished the starters and then they charged us two quid for it?! Would never recommend to anyone!!!

Booked as part of a Christmas party, we were seated in the basement, to begin with the restaurant was so hot the visit was uncomfortable and the heat sickening, we had ordered off of a set menu £20 for 2 course the starter was passable but so hot it couldn't be finished, it was brought out so quickly it had obviously been cooked prior to our arrival, our main was served as we took the last mouthful of the starter the mean had obviously been reheated as it was over dry and tough and the chicken served was raw, I raised this to the server who proceeded to argue that this was indeed the smoking process however I pointed out to her that the inner texture was completely jellified and appeared raw and was cool to touch she then returned with a replacement and just gave me more tough over dry ribs. She then has the audacity to try and charge £35 service, appalling start to end would not eat here again or indeed recommend it. In fact the above happened to each person who ordered the same as me!

Often a queue and as with most Soho restaurants you cannot reserve a table here but if you can wait it is worth doing. The atmosphere is possibly even better than the food with American sports on the screens and plenty of beer from the USA to sample. Food is BBQ style and is pretty good.

Food was mediocre. The pulled pork was better than the burnt ends that I had. Cornbread was relatively tasteless and the beans came in the smallest bowl I have ever seen. Wife had the burrito which was surprisingly unique and pretty good though. Decent selection of beer although none of it is draft. Upstairs is more cafe style and the downstairs is like a typical restaurant.
