The place lived up to the hype for us during our visit from Houston for Mother's Day brunch. Being from Houston, this place most reminded me of a classic New Orleans restaurant. The food and service was the best we had during our stay here and made us feel at home. A lot of the placed we ate in DC seemed to be trying very hard to be "modern" so it was nice to finally get to a place that embraced history. Strawberry french toast and Chesapeak eggs were amazing. We did have similarly good food around the city during our stay but the great service here made it stand out.

Another restaurant in the DC area with a super long wait! Old Ebbitt Grill is just walking steps from the White House. Get the crab cakes! "95% crab & 5% cracker for bonding" It was amazingly delicious! The pork chop was done nicely as well. Very juicy and moist. Tip: 50% off on oysters after 11PM. Reservations recommended.

Very traditional-feeling place with lots of wood and a packed bar with tons of suits. We came in to just have a couple drinks and a snack and were not disappointed. Certainly not cheap, but pretty reasonable for the location and setting. Had the chowder and the flatbread which were both excellent. Good luck finding a place at the bar, but if you are ok with a busy place, the energy is pretty cool near the bar. Grab a table somewhere else otherwise.

Great history and introduction one we first sat down. Very clean and welcoming. Great brunch menu but kind of limited, unless you like seafood for brunch. We are from Atlanta and this place has some of the best shrimp and grits I have ever had!

The best crab cakes! Charming building. Great bar scene. Really really loud though. Excellent service. Good beer selection.

Didn't have to wait for a table, even at peak lunch hours. Server was great, food was delicious. The menu is appropriately sized, with a wide selection of different style dishes (we are from the lunch menu). In and out in less than an hour! Great choice!

Tremendous place at superb prices.. Like an old town restaurant the atmosphere is brash and lively. Highly recommend the blackened red snapper, but there are plenty of great seafood and beef options for all.

Great Service and experience. Food was amazing. I got the Atlantic Salmon. It was fantastic. Girlfriend order steak, it didn't come out as order but still tender and delightful.
