The place lived up to the hype for us during our visit from Houston for Mother's Day brunch. Being from Houston, this place most reminded me of a classic New Orleans restaurant. The food and service was the best we had during our stay here and made us feel at home. A lot of the placed we ate in DC seemed to be trying very hard to be "modern" so it was nice to finally get to a place that embraced history. Strawberry french toast and Chesapeak eggs were amazing. We did have similarly good food around the city during our stay but the great service here made it stand out.

Very traditional-feeling place with lots of wood and a packed bar with tons of suits. We came in to just have a couple drinks and a snack and were not disappointed. Certainly not cheap, but pretty reasonable for the location and setting. Had the chowder and the flatbread which were both excellent. Good luck finding a place at the bar, but if you are ok with a busy place, the energy is pretty cool near the bar. Grab a table somewhere else otherwise.

Nice place, molt recomanable! !! After 4h30 by car (from NY) and 2h30 walking in these beautiful city, we decide to lunch in these place .... French influence deco, really clean, well organised and great service. Concerning food ... ouau ... magnific oysters from North (near Boston) and recommended, rock fish and hamburger to enjoy these moment. Catalan wine from costers del segre (Raimat) and the best bread that we taste in US. Pour les voyageurs français, un ambient similaire à celui du café de la paix de Paris. Pels visitants Catalans un lloc recomanable amb ambient similar a Casa Alfonso.

My wife and I visited the place on recommendation by the immigrations officer a Dulles International (not usually your expected source of travel advice) I had grilled oysters (which were excellent) and meat loaf (which was average) Staff was nice and super efficient.

Didn't have to wait for a table, even at peak lunch hours. Server was great, food was delicious. The menu is appropriately sized, with a wide selection of different style dishes (we are from the lunch menu). In and out in less than an hour! Great choice!

Great history and introduction one we first sat down. Very clean and welcoming. Great brunch menu but kind of limited, unless you like seafood for brunch. We are from Atlanta and this place has some of the best shrimp and grits I have ever had!

The service is excellent : we were quickly sitted and the waiter was nice and fun. The food itself is not outstanding, but it's good and not too expensive.

I planned a birthday party here at 5:00PM. I wanted to add 2 more people for a total of 6 people. I called the place and asked if I could do so. I told them that we would sit anywhere that we could be accommodated. We have a 2 year old baby and wanted to make sure they could help us with seating. The person, Marcus, stated that he could either squeeze us into a small booth (That could only seat 4 people) or change our appointment time to 10:30 at night. He stated that he was unwilling to help us. He's was kirt and rude. I asked for the manager (A young lady) and she was just as kirt and rude. She then asked if we were going to keep our reservation or go somewhere else, because she needed to pack the restaurant and give our seats to someone else if we were not coming. Obviously, we did not go there and will not go back. Very surprised and disappointed. By the way, on of the people that was coming with me is a food critic.
