Heavy rains lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana, giving relief to people reeling under sultry conditions.

Monsoon is expected to reach Haryana anytime now. The pre-Monsoon rains have intensified over the state and during the last 24 hours, fairly widespread rain showers occurred over Haryana. Many districts recorded moderate to heavy rainfall while one or two districts observed extremely heavy rainfall.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Wednesday heavy rain of 148.4 mm was recorded in Hisar city.

Haryana is already a rain surplus state. It is a good sign for the agriculture sector as almost most parts of the state’s income are dependent on it. These rains will be beneficial for the water reservoirs and ground water storage also.

Hisar got 148.4 mm in one day (24 hours) and it broken all previous record of having such huge amount of raining waters. It is also new record of raining in June month in Hisar (253.5 mm till 29 June 2017)

Hisar has weather recording system before Independence of India (in 1914)

Due to heavy raining, many colony’s road get flooded with rain waters. Road get flooded with water in area of Model town, Urban Estate II and PLA. Due to this, people feel little disturbance while crossing flooded road with their vehicles.

Due to heavy rain waters on road, lot of bicycles, bikes, Scotty and even some cars stopped running as their sparking plug get wet with rain waters.

Road mostly filled with rain water behind Automarket, in Patel Negar and Fawara Chowk or many more areas in Hisar city.

Experts said rain at this stage is beneficial for kharif crops, especially paddy.

जून में सामान्य से अधिक हुई बारिश के चलते खरीफ फसल की बुआई में मदद मिलेगी। हाल की मॉनसून वर्षा ने किसानों की चिंता कम कर दी है। जून की बारिश ने किसानों को प्रेरित किया है जिससे खेती का दायरा बढ़ सकता है। एक अनुमान के अनुसार भारत में इस सीजन में सामान्य से 19% अधिक खेती हो सकती है।

The acid reactions that allow Coke to remove stains from toilet bowls are no exception. For difficult stains, try heating up your Coke in the microwave before you apply it to the bowl. It does not need to be boiling, but for best results it should be hot to the touch.

Never microwave soda (or any liquid) in a sealed container or a container made of metal. This can lead to dangerous explosions of hot liquid. Instead, pour the soda into a microwave-safe glass and then microwave it.

The acidity, sugar content and carbonated nature of most soda drinks are perfect for a number of surprisingly practical uses for DIY home projects, garden work, kitchen cleanup, car maintenance, cooking and more.

The soft drink is perfect for unclogging kitchen sink drains, cleaning your dirty toilet bowl and removing rust from old nuts and bolts may make you reconsider chugging down this stuff on a frequent basis.

Some Uses of Soft Drinks

Cleaning

1) Cleaning Car Battery Terminals : There is acid in almost all carbonated drinks. And that helps strip corrosion from car battery terminals. Pour some soda over the battery terminals and let it sit for a while. Wipe off the residue with a wet cloth.

2) Clean Your Dirty Toilet Bowl : Pour a can of soda into the bowl. Let it sit for an hour to let the phosphoric acid work on the stains, then brush to loosen the dirt and flush clean.

3) Remove Rust Stains in Your Tub : The phosphoric acid of Cola will remove rust stains in your tub. Soak a sponge (preferably one with an abrasive side) in some cola and go to work on the stain.

4) Remove Milk Stains From Clothes : Soak the stain with Coke for about five minutes, then wash normally. It should get the stain out.

5) Clean Coins : Place your coins in a small dish and soak in Coke for a few hours. Rinse and wipe to a bright shine.

6) Clean Grease From Glass : That same phosphoric acid removes grease and grime from glass.
Medicinal Uses of Soft Drinks

1) Prevent Diarrhea : The acids in the soda help reduce the amount of E. Coli bacteria in your intestines. This inhibits the production of toxins that can cause diarrhea.

2) Relieve Constipation : The caffeine from a can of coke can have a laxative effect. Much like that morning latte.

Does Pepsi do the same thing?

No. Pepsi has a lower acidity than Coke due to the higher sugar content.

Note :
1) While Coke can remove many stains, it's not always the absolute best cleaning agent for the job. For very difficult stains, you may want to try pairing it with other cleaning solutions.
2) Soda water can often be a better household cleaner because it would not leave a sugary residue.
3) This may not work for oily stains. It only cleans up mineral stains.
4) Similarly tomato sauce contains acetic acid which attacks the copper active base of the pan. (You can clean pan with tomato sauce too)
5) Toothpaste is the perfect solution for silverware. The oxidised silver particles will be quickly washed away by rubbing with toothpaste on brush and your jewellery will start to shine again.

Consideration :

1) Coke is suitable for most of the mineral deposits and rings that commonly occur in toilets. But it would not always work for rarer stains.
2) Coke is not great for removing oil, fat, or grease-based stains. For these, it is better using dish soap, detergent or a stronger acid like vinegar.
3) Coke is not great at killing germs. In fact, the sugary residue left behind by regular Coke can actually feed certain types of bacteria.
4) Coke's acids do not make it unsafe to consume. Orange juice, for example, is far more acidic than cola drinks.
5) Coke can clean difficult stains due to its acidity. But it is a myth that coke can clean the clogged drain.
6) Chlorine is a powerful oxidizer and again less expensive than cola.
7) Baking soda will not only clear up clogged drains but it will also keep them smelling fresh.

Soft drink is not too much acidic to harm the insides of humans but excess of intake of soft drink can cause weaken of your teeth and bones due to its acidic nature.

How to drive Maurti Suzuki Celerio Automatic Car (Automatic Gear Shift Car)

Maruti Suzuki is the first automaker to introduce AMT or as they call it – AGS, into the hatchback segment in India with the Celerio.

Auto Gear Shift is Suzuki’s newly developed automated manual transmission (AMT), equipped with the Intelligent Shift Control Actuator, an electric-hydraulic actuator that automatically performs clutch and shift operations. Auto Gear Shift combines the actuator and controller and directly mounts them in the transmission in order to unify the working components.

This permits synchronised control over the clutch, shifting, and engine for smoother gear changes. As well as bringing together the advantages of both manual and automatic transmissions, shifting time is shortened compared to conventional AMTs.

Automated Manual Transmission gearbox is getting increasingly popular in India because they give you the best of both worlds that is the control of a manual gearbox when you need it and the convenience of a fully automatic transmission.

Features of Suzuki Auto Gear Shift

a) Excellent Fuel Efficiency : As the basic structure is manual transmission, its fuel efficiency is equivalent to manual transmission. Optimal gearshift operation controlled by the computer helps improve fuel efficiency.

b) Easy Driving : Because clutch pedal and gearshift operations by the driver are not necessary and thanks to the creep function at the start, Auto Gear Shift makes driving easy even when parking and during traffic congestion.

c) Fun Driving : Manual mode can be selected to enjoy driving, enabling the driver to shift gears at will, just like manual transmission.

Knowing Auto Gear Shift

The gear box is neatly labelled where “N” stands for Neutral, “D” is for Drive, “R” denotes Reverse, “M” means Manual mode. In Manual mode, there are options of “+” to upshift gears and “-” which is used to downshift the gears.

Switching On
Ensure car is in neutral. Brake pedal is pressed. Crank on the engine (if the car is not in Neutral and brake pedal is not pressed, the car will not start. This is to ensure safety)

Drive Mode

The user presses the brake pedal and puts the gear lever in Drive ‘D’ position. The car sets in motion by virtue of Creep function with the release of brake.

The speed of car can be changed by pressing or releasing the accelerator pedal as per requirement.

In Drive “D” mode the most appropriate gear is automatically selected by the Auto Gear Shift system, based on the operation of the accelerator pedal and vehicle speed. With the increase in speed, the car moves up to a higher gear, highest being the 5th gear.

Optimum vehicle performance and fuel economy is obtained by smoothly/ lightly pressing and releasing the accelerator pedal. Aggressive pressing of the accelerator pedal will result in gear shifting at higher engine RPM which may adversely impact the fuel economy.

Manual Mode

To add to the flexibility, this Auto Gear Shift transmission also offers a Manual mode. For shifting to Manual mode, one has to simply shift the gear lever to “M” position.
Gear shifting is achieved by pushing the lever to the “+”and “-” for upshifting and downshifting respectively. Even while driving, the drive mode can be shuffled between “D” and “M” modes.

Stopping Car

Pressing the brake reduces the speed of the car. The gears shift down automatically. When the vehicle comes to a complete halt, press the brake pedal and shift the lever to “N”, Neutral.

It is crucial to check position of gear in the display on the instrument cluster to ensure it is in Neutral. Switch off engine and engage parking brake.



Use Your right foot to moderate Brake and Clutch

Your left foot is ‘dead foot’. It is preferred to use your right foot to use the accelerator and the brake for better moderation, especially for those who have learned driving in a manual transmission car.

Do not coast in 'Drive' mode

When the car is not in motion, like for example when you are at a traffic stop, make sure you put it into ‘N’ or neutral. As when the car is in 'D' or Drive, the creep functionality would trying to do its job but then you would be stopping it from doing so as you would have your foot on the brakes, this causes unnecessary wear and tear of the parts. Hence, it is best to coast in 'N' or Neutral when your car is stationary.

Starting off on Uphill :

1) Apply the parking brake firmly so that the vehicle does not roll backwards.
2) Shift the gearshift lever to the “D” position while depressing the brake pedal. Make sure that the gear position indicator in the instrumental cluster displays 1st gear.
3) Release the brake pedal and depress the accelerator pedal gradually, and when the vehicle starts to move, release the parking brake and depress the accelerator pedal to start off.

How AMT of Maruti Celerio Work

The brain of this actuator is the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) which is in addition to and pairs up with the electronic control unit (ECU). Information is fed to the TCU by an array of sensors including the throttle position sensor and the engine-rpm sensor, and the ECU. Based on the info, the TCU directs the hydraulic actuators to engage the clutch and shift up or down the gear range. Maruti engineers have given the Celerio an electric, drive-by-wire throttle to deliver driver inputs directly to the TCU.


Brief Details of Automated Manual Transmission (AMT)

The AMT sitting in the Celerio is a Magneti Marelli (part of the Fiat group) system. In the Auto mode (D), the most appropriate gear is automatically selected by the system, based on the operation of the accelerator and vehicle speed. As speed increases, the car moves up to a higher gear, with the highest being the fifth gear. If the driver chooses to drive in Manual mode (M), the lever needs to be shifted to the left and then pushed to "+" and "-" for up-shifting and down-shifting respectively.

In both modes in the AMT, the driver is saved of clutch pedal operations. Press the brake pedal and shift the gear lever into D, release the brake and the car moves, just like any normal AT. With no accelerator inputs, the car will cruise at 10 kmph. But the AMT is nothing like the conventional AT. A conventional AT uses a torque converter. But AMT is a conventional manual gearbox which remains unchanged. It has an electro hydraulic mechanism for automating gear shifts. It depends on an electronic control unit (ECU) that manages actuators to control the clutch engagements for the gear shifts to happen.

The AMT operates on the manual transmission of a car just like a driver would. It opens and closes the clutch, and engages and disengages the gears – both these control movements are executed by hydraulic actuators, which in turn are controlled by the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) – replacing the hands and brains of a driver. This entire unit is delivered to a manufacturer as a sealed unit which is then incorporated within the conventional gearbox assembly. This 5-speed gearbox unit is also shared with the manual, which is why Maruti is able to price the AMT variant so competitively in comparison to conventional ATs.

Our Review :

1) Celerio AMT is easy to drive car.
2) 80 km/hr is a breeze for the engine.
3) You also get a manual shifting mode in Maruti Celerio AMT too.

Note :

1) In traffic, sometimes AMT system takes more time to engage the right gear; it could be that ECU taking more time to assert the right gear.
2) The AMT is only available in LXi and VXi while the ZXi version does get a music system. It means that music system is not available in any AMT version of celerio.
3) The AMT does not get any safety options, while the ZXi gets ABS. (optional)
4) The gear position indicator is available only in the AMT. The ZXi also gets keyless entry, security system (optional), rear mudflaps, alloy wheels (optional), driver seat height adjuster (optional), electrically adjustable ORVMs, tilt steering, and even driver’s seat belt warning lamp.
5) If you want to shift into manual mode, shift the gear lever to the left and you can upshift by tapping it down (“+”) and downshift by tapping it up (“-”).
6) The manual gear option will be helpful for those who would want more freedom to select gears while driving on highways.
7) The gear-lever unit, placed between the two front seats, shows ‘R' for Reverse, ‘D' for Drive, ‘N' for Neutral. Towards the left there is one slot marked ‘M', for manual. In the manual mode, there are options of ‘+' to upshift gears and ‘-' to downshift gears.

Consideration

1) Water may damage the AMT unit during heavy rains and water logs. (1 in 100 cases may happen)
2) There can be wear and tear of clutch plate.
3) AMT auto can be troublesome on a quick overtake on highways.
4) The kind of engine vibration or shudder if on neutral with AC on, it could be due to small engine.
5) The Celerio’s AMT is not a conventional system; an experienced driver can feel the engaging/disengaging of the clutch, (just as one would while changing gears on a manual system).
6) The AMT is not the smartest of systems. Sometimes, it makes the mistake of shifting down two gears and sometimes it gets confused on the gear to select.
7) The auto shifter in the new Maruti Celerio is just the manual gearbox and a brainy appendage sitting on top of it.

गर्मियां आ रही हैं और आपको जरुरत पड़ने वाली है राहत भरे ठंडे शरबतों की। आज हम आपको केसर-बादाम शरबत की रेसीपी बताएंगे जो कि पीने में बहुत ही टेस्‍टी लगेगा। इसे पीने से शरीर में तरावट आ जाएगी। बादाम दिमाग और शरीर दोनों के लिये ही फायदेमंद होता है तो, क्‍यों न इससे शरबत ही बनाया जाए। यही नहीं इसके अलावा अगर आपके घर पर भी कोई महमान आ जाए तो भी आप उसे गर्मी के दिनों में यह ठंडा शरबत बना कर पिला सकते हैं। आइये जानते हैं बेसर-बादाम शरबत को बनाने की विधि को।

सामग्री-

बादाम- 3 कप (पूरी रात भीगे हुए)
चीनी- डेढ़ किलो
पानी- 5 कप
केसर (पानी में घुला हुआ)- कुछ रेशे
पोटेशियम मेटा बाई सल्‍फाइट- 1/4 चम्‍मच
साइट्रिक एसिड- चुटकी भर
इलायची पाउडर- 1 छोटा चम्‍मच

विधि- चीनी, पानी, साइट्रिक एसिड को तेज आंच पर उबालें। एक तार की चाशनी बनने पर गैस बंद कर दें। भीगे बादाम मिक्‍सी में पीस लें। अब पिसे बादाम, घुली हुई केसर और इलायची डालकर फिर गैस चालू कर दें। दो बार उबालें और फिर गैस बंद कर दें। इसे छान लें, शर्बत ठंडा होने पर इसमें पोटेशियम मेटा बाई सल्‍फाइट डालें और बोतल में भर लें। दूध या सादा पानी के सथ काम में लें।

The motor may be the heart of any cooler system but it is useless without quality capacitors which keep the motor and the cooler running properly.

A motor capacitor such as a start capacitor or run capacitor (including a dual run capacitor) is an electrical capacitor that alters the current to one or more windings of a single phase AC induction motor to create a rotating magnetic field. There are two common types of motor capacitors, run capacitors and start capacitors. The units of capacitance are labeled in microfarads (µF or uF).

When your cooler motor do not start easily, this is indication for a capacitor which is either dead or which has lost a lot of its capacitance.

There is mainly one test that you can do to check capacitor working or not: Purchase a replacement capacitor and install it. If it starts the motor reliably every single time then you can conclude that the old capacitor was the problem and you have already fixed your water cooler.

The Capacitor is the only source which gives initial power to start its motion and again and again boosting will increase the speed. But as the capacitor is not working your cooler motor will not rotate in designed speed. It is right that speed can be managed by regulator but that particular speed will not achieved if capacitor is not working properly.

Why Capacitor is Important in Cooler Motor

Fans and coolers use induction motors. These motors require a capacitor to run. This is known as a split-phase capacitor. Your fan's motor, by design, requires two phases of current to run. But your home mains offer one phase only. A capacitor splits this phase into two separate phases with a difference of 90 degrees.

An exhaust fan is smaller and may use a different type of motor known as a brushless motor. There is a permanent capacitor built into those motors.

What is Capacitor

A capacitor is an electrical device that stores an electrical charge. They are used on fan motors. They have two electrical ratings. The first rating is the unit's capacitance which is given in microfarads (mfd). This is a measure of the amount of charge the unit can store with a specified voltage applied. The second rating is a voltage rating which tells what supply voltage the unit is rated for. This is usually 370vac or 440vac. This is important to know because if a significantly higher voltage is applied the capacitor will prematurely fail.

Types of capacitors

1) Run Capacitor : This type capacitor is called a run capacitor and is used in furnaces, air conditioners and heat pumps. These capacitors are used with fan motors and compressors. They maintain a relatively constant voltage supply to these motors and increase their torque at startup.

2) Start Capacitor : This type capacitor is called a start capacitor. They are used in some air conditioners and heat pumps. They provide extra torque at startup for the compressor. A potential relay automatically disconnects them from the compressor after the compressor starts.

Testing of Capacitor :

If you have analog type meter, the capacitor is checked with the meter set to measure resistance. Shut off the power, discharge the capacitor and disconnect the wires attached to it. Then with the meter on the highest resistance setting, put the leads on the capacitor terminals. The resistance reading should start at zero and go up to maximum.

Replacing faulty Capacitor :

After your capacitor testing has shown that you have a faulty part, the replacement procedure is simple. If you have a dual run capacitor (the capacitor has three terminals on it), then you should mark the wires and write down where they go. Then simply disconnect the wires, replace the faulty part and then reconnect the wires.

Proper Substitution of Capacitors

In order to ensure the proper motor operation that the manufacturer designed it for and to prevent damage to the motor, always use the exact same nominal rating of capacitance specified by the motor nameplate.

When engineers design motors, they take into consideration this type of tolerance range. They specify the nominal (40 µF) rating along with a tolerance (+/-6%) to make sure that if the capacitor is to be replaced, the motor will provide the same performance that it was designed for.

Using improperly sized capacitors can have a variety of detrimental effects on the motor. If the capacitor’s µF rating is less than the motor was designed for, the motor winding current will be too high. If the capacitor’s µF rating is higher than the motor was designed for, the motor winding current will be too low. Either scenario can lead to one or more of the following:

1) Reduced Motor Speeds

• Reduces System Airflow/Cooling
• Increases System Noise

2) Temperature Increase

• Causes Bearing wear and Lubrication Loss
• Results in Insulation Breakdown
• Increases Noise

3) Lower motor efficiency

• Increases Energy Consumption
• Reduces System and Motor Life

4) Improper Equipment Operation

• Results in Improper Cycling
• Increased Noise
• Stresses Other Components

Motors are designed with a specific, nominal rating and tolerance.

If anything is outside that rating, the motor will run either faster or slower. Either way, the end result will be that the machine will not work properly, and the motor, capacitor, or any other component in the machine will receive additional stress that will cause damage, make noise and require repair.





If your fan or cooler motor is moving slowly then the best way to increase ceiling fan speed is to change the capacitor.

Now, capacitor is used to provide a phase difference and the torque is maximum when phase difference is 90 degrees. If it is more or less than that, torque will be less. The capacitor that comes with a fan is matched so as to produce the required phase difference.

The reason why cooler motor slow as they get older is because the capacitor loses its capacitance. This will lead to lesser torque and speed. You can change the capacitor and restore the rated speed of cooler motor. However, that will not make it go any faster than its rated speed.

The only case it might make the fan faster is if the capacitor used were smaller than ideal to begin with. Still, it is not advised to use a larger value capacitor even in this case, winding may get overheated or fail.

How to increase Airflow in Cooler or Fan

1) Check its Blade Angle : The best way to check is inspect that all blades align at same angle or not and if not then make it proper.

2) Capacitor is not Working : Replace the capacitor and see the speed of cool motor. It will definitely increase and most of time problems come with capacitor only.

3) Winding Problem : Call the electrician to check the winding of your cooler motor for speed performance.

Note :

1) The maximum speed is dictated by the number of poles and the frequency of the line voltage.
2) Single phase induction motor is used in ceiling fans to get a rotating field, it requires capacitors which are not self starting. Ceiling fans and coolers both require induction motors.
3) A large Capacitor is used to get a cooler compressor started quickly. It stores a large charge of Electric Current and releases it all at once to get something started like cooling compressor, garage door motor, microwave oven magnetron and hot tub pump motor.
4) Rotational speed is a direct function of the power frequency. If you drop the frequency, the motor will slow down. Conversely, if you raise the frequency, the motor will speed up.
5) A properly sized run capacitor will increase the efficiency of the motor operation by providing the proper “phase angle” between voltage and current to create the rotational electrical field needed by the motor.

Consideration :

1) If the motor slows down, its cooling will drop (and at a faster rate than the slow down). If the motor speeds up its cooling will increase rapidly.
2) Even though a capacitor is an inexpensive component, installing the wrong size can have a dramatic impact on an entire system.
3) If a wrong capacitor is installed, it will cause an uneven magnetic field around the rotor. This causes the rotor to hesitate at the uneven spots, resulting in irregular rotation, especially under load. This hesitation can cause the motor to become noisy, increase energy consumption, cause performance to drop and the motor to overheat.
