It was great to see you at The Grid. I have just a comment for you: during the show someone asked about the monthly fee. I live outside the US and I would be very happy if Adobe charged me the same fee they charge their american customers. I don't understand why Adobe has a different price for brazilian customers. Other software companies that offer their products for download charge us the same price, why Adobe discriminate their foreign customers? Think about that.

Stephen Shankland originally shared:

Raw vs. DNG question for +Thomas Hawk, +Gary Crabbe, +Kyle Marquardt, +Dave Powell and any other photographers for a story I'm writing. If you shoot raw, do you convert to DNG? Why or why not? If not, what would it take to get you to adopt DNG? If yes, what's your biggest complaint about DNG?

(And feel free to mention this post to anybody else--I'm eager to hear any and all opinions on the matter. Would you like DNG more if your camera supported it, or if it were a standard? Do you think Adobe is right that DNG is a better archival format than the assorted proprietary raw formats?)

+Tom Hogarty Currently I see no reason to go for DNG.
Raw editing in LR3/4 works perfect and suits my workflow.
As for the proprietary format: I really don't mind that as I'm consistent with my .CR2 format.

Let's flip the question: Why do you think, DNG would be the better format, apart from it's (maybe) non-proprietary qualities?

A big fan of LR3 but having played with LR4 Beta, it really adds a few neat tools to the package. You're right, the more you play with it the more hooked you get.
