My friend just placed a pre-order for me of these fabulously detailed eyes! I just won an auction for a white Hujoo Freyja, whose theme will be cats, stars, and cool tones. I'm still deciding on the details of her face-up, but I'm leaning towards peachy-cream flame point, with pink ear linings, nose, and paw pads.

Also ordering some other cute stuff for her to wear, all either cat or star themed!

Oof.

Rough few days. Rough few weeks. SSD died. Router died. PS3 died. (Not in that order)

Not a good start to March for tech in our house.

Holy cow I have Instagram!

I mean, I always did, but now I have one for my MH stuff. Mostly the same as what'll be on Flickr, but a few "out and about" photos should appear here and there as well (window shopping ahoy!), and maybe a few photos that are Instagram-only.

Bottoms Up!

I really like Elissabat's look for the Ghouls' Getaway release. She has such great make up and hair for this one. Not quite as cute as the Londoom 3Pack, but still. I adore the little crop top and highwaisted skirt they gave her for this particular doll!

Going Crazy? Or Unwelcome?

Since I'm not sure which it is, I'm going to stick to posting on my own social media and Flickr for a while.

Today's photos include Doe A. Deer! I want to get a wooden placard so she looks like a mounted "trophy" on the wall! I sort of got that effect here with the wallpaper-esque craft sheet, but it's not quite there yet.

Ghoul Sports Toralei is complete!

I just finished up restyling her hair and taking a few snaps of her. I'm contemplating trimming her fringe shorter, so her lovely expressive eyebrows are visible, but I'll leave it a few days so I can decide a bit less impulsively.

Overall, I'm happy with the result! I just need to get the nerve up to draw in lashes on the top line. They always look so goofy when I try, and I end up erasing them.

High-key with Kiyomi!

Practising some high-key shots using the off-camera flash, miniature softbox attachment, and Kiyomi! I took this (and the other two on Flickr) in front of my sofa, just sitting in the middle of the living room in the middle of the morning.

Kiyomi was suspended using a bit of fishing line, and the background "erased" using the hot shoe to create really, really strong points of contrast on the doll as compared to the background.

Kiyomi was my first foray into customising dolls (technically), as I erased her original eyes and eyebrows, and dusted her with a smidgen of shimmery powder to highlight her sculpt.

First "formal" EAH snaps!

I've had some EAH dolls for about a year now, but I never manage to take photos of them. While I was playing around with the custom heart-shaped bokeh, I thought it would be fun to get Lizzie in on the act. After all, who better than the daughter of the Queen of Hearts?

(Okay, so Cupid's a good choice, too. Shhhhh!)

Practicing Lighting Effects

Trying out a custom bokeh with Justina here. I need some fairy lights to make this work properly, I think. The reflective craft/scrapbooking paper doesn't do too badly, but it's not spectacularly crisp, either. All the little hearts blur into a mass for the most part. Oh well.

This shot is 99% straight from camera. I did a tiny bit of editing to make the glowing hearts "nest" in her hands by partially painting over a couple of fingers.

I finished my first two custom dolls the other day!

I worked for about two weeks on these ghouls and I'm really pleased with how they came out. This is my first time doing custom Monster High dolls, and I'm really excited that they look as nice as they do! I'm especially fond of Lagoona's little cheeks, and Marisol's tangerine coloured lower lip.

I'm going to buy more of the shimmery loose pigment I used on her lips and eyelids (I have it in a white shimmer powder that I used on Kiyomi when I removed her eyes, but I can't find the little jar at the moment. D'oh).

Anyway, here they are!
