What is the NEW Backalley Bistro? Southern Cuisine. The soul of southern cooking in Clay County. Gracious service and Southern Hospitality. Simply stated, it's succulent. We're unique in design!
The Backalley Bistro warmly opened its doors for the first time in 2001. We proudly reopened with our new Southern fare on June 29th, 2013. Part of the visual appeal lends itself to the comfort felt when eating at Grandma's house. Playing in the back woods all day, then coming home to a home cooked meal, prepared with only the freshest local ingredients, and love.
Food is to be slowly savored, traditional fried banana peppers and pickles, Southern Sausage Gravy straight from my momma's table in southern Georgia, and homemade, from scratch sides that my mom would be proud that she inspired. Proper desserts that will cause you to swing your feet like you did when you ate your grandma's desserts. You'll find yourself fighting everyone at your table for that last bite...
The Backalley Bistro was re-opened with the hope that locals have somewhere to go to celebrate good, southern, homemade cooking. If Mama Wheeler wouldn't serve it at her table, we won't serve it here! So have a seat, but put your napkin in your lap, and eat up!
