This is not about a clash of ephemeral political parties that you may not have heard of in a country far away. This is about a timeless issue of standing up to bullies who exert power simply because of their stature. This is about knowing in your hea...

O Divine reality, Materialize before me.. Someday
"To give Iqbal the   #NobelPrize is an insult to Iqbal; he should have a prize named after him", these were the comments from a gentleman from Romania voicing his objection to the posthumous nomination of Iqbal for the Nobel Prize.

If the Muslims of today fail to recognise the message of Iqbal, which was in essence a revival of the Puritan teachings of the Qur'an, than they will never emancipate themselves from the depths of darkness that envelop them.

Some consider asceticism to be the height of human greatness. Others perceive power and strength to be the climax of human achievement. Iqbal struck the balance between these extremes reminding humanity that their reality is neither purely spiritual, nor purely material; it is a compendium of both.

Thus he highlighted the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as the perfect role model, as portrayed in the Quran, who at the zenith of his career was the uncrowned king of Arabia yet he slept on the floor on a bed that left marks on his back. Power not attained for the greed of the self, rather for the sake of God and for the service of humanity; thus becoming a mercy to all the worlds.

The more the Muslim of today emulates this balance the more he realises his essence; his khudi. And when these emancipated khudiis amalgamate their struggles, they will then emancipate the world to the light of liberty, equality, and justice: in one word "#Tawheed"!

Biggest Pro-Gaza March in Pakistan

On Sunday, Thousands of pro-Palestine supporters in Pakistan joined Gaza Million March to demand the end of Gaza massacre. The participants raised the flags of Pakistan and Palestine and chanted slogans against Israel and United States and in favour of the people of Gaza. They also raised placards and banners inscribed with “Get Free Gaza”, “Down with Israel and USA”, “Labbaik ya Gaza” and others.

Khalid Mashal, Hamas leader in his telephonic address lauded the efforts of the Muslims of Pakistan for expressing their solidarity with the people of Gaza.

On the occasion, Khalid Mashal vowed that the Hamas and the people of Gaza will continue their ‘Jihad’ against USA and Israeli army.

Among Nelson #Mandela’s many achievements, two stand out. First, he was the world’s most inspiring example of fortitude, magnanimity and dignity in the face of oppression. Second, and little short of miraculous, was the way in which he engineered and oversaw South Africa’s transformation from a byword for nastiness and narrowness into, at least in intent, a rainbow nation in which people, no matter what their colour, were entitled to be treated with respect http://econ.st/IT2DzM
