Coming up this weekend! The Best Friend Model Train Show began in 1999 as an endeavor by local model train enthusiasts to provide a venue for displaying traveling stock and marketing items related to model railroading. Under the leadership of Carl Blum the show has grown to wide acceptance throughout South Carolina and beyond. The displays range from the sophisticated to the frivolous. The main display hall plays host to resident Lionel experts, Thomas the Tank dealer and other vendors, as well as rolling layouts of trains in various gauges from N Gauge to O and S Gauge and G Gauge. In past years, the display of Thomas the Tank has been chased around the tracks by the “Lady Bug Express,” much to the delight of children and parents alike. This year the show will again have Lionel’s 2007 limited edition of the Best Friend of Charleston on display.

The show's official webpage is at http://www.bestfriendofcharleston.org/modeltrainshow.html
