As the years pass the experience of going out to dinner seems to have changed dramatically. Reflecting on my childhood I recall that my parents would only take us out for dinner on special occasions and as such, going out to dinner was always a treat - an experience, if you will. In today's world dinner seems more of an inconvenience for most, and we, the customers, are herded like cattle into restaurants and provided with food, drink and a bill as quickly as possible as to make the table available for another sale. The Cascade Lodge provides a dining EXPERIENCE. I took my parents to this wonderful establishment to celebrate my Fathers 65th birthday. I wanted to take him somewhere special, somewhere where I could convey the love and admiration that this family has for him - The Cascade Lodge was my first pick, and the perfect one. The food was absolutely delectable! Each of our meals was prepared just as we had preferred, all of which were hot, fresh, and pleasantly presented. Danielle was our server this evening and her wonderful balance of professionalism and charm enhanced our dining experience. I would highly recommend dining at the Cascade Lodge to any of my family and friends. What better way to celebrate any relationship than over good food in an atmosphere that is soft, welcoming, and relaxed.

AWEFUL -DO NOT GO HERE! Such a shame, this used to be a great place. We asked for plain butter instead of the sickly sweet maple butter and were told no. Then in trying to resolved a discrepancy on the bill I asked to speak with the manager, who was the owner. The rudest most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in the food service industry, honestly hateful. Afterwards both the chef and the waiter told me she was a B&%TCH and apologized. the food was terrible, the lobster was crayfish.

Ha! Ha! This place is a joke! In the basement, there is a small stream with live trout swimming in it. Guests are taken down to pick out the trout they would like to consume. The trout is caught by your waiter and "taken" to the chef. In reality, the real trout is returned to the basement stream and your dinner is taken out of the freezer. The old Bait and Switch! The atmosphere is depressing to the core.

The Cascade Lodge had been a place we have enjoyed to come to for many years. My husband and I and 4 other couples were there on a Friday, 6/17/11, night. When we arrived the parking lot was empty and that should have been the first indication of a problem. The food, steak, salmon and duck, did not measure up to previous expectations. We were all diappointed in the service. This was "always" a place where the service was well above excellent. Not the case this time. It was as if it was a chore to serve us. They ran out of Crown Royal for one of our guests, but didn't neglect to charge us and seemed amazed the we noticed the charge on the bill. The food was over priced for the quantity you received. This will no longer be on our list of places where we would like to return.

Are you kidding me? This place was maybe relevant 30 years ago. The menu was EXTREMELY over priced. Un-priced coffees with splashes of flavor cost $12.50. Whipped cream from a can, crepes from a package, Turkey Hill Ice Cream and Hershey syrup costs $12.50. Total bill for two flavored coffees and a plate of corn syrup=$38. Tables, chairs, plates, silverware were all filthy. Strong odor of some sort of cleaning product permeated the place, but the view was beautiful. Such a shame that the gorgeous property is being abused.

Loved the tableside dining. Flambe is a blast! The setting is second to none. I cannot wait until they open up the bar area downstairs- seems like it can be a hip place to hang out.

The Cascade Lodge has been the place our family has gone throughout the years for an exceptional dining experience, back when there was a trout pond where they would go fish out your dinner. Not sure if they still have that as the last time we were there it was winter. The last time we were there we were a little disappointed with the food, but the wait staff was great as ever. Still great atmosphere and views while you eat - maybe it was just an off day - I would definitely go there again!
