Our Global Skincare Training Manager talks UVA, UVB, and the power of sunscreen. 

What You Need To Know:
• UVA =Aging rays. UVA rays deeply penetrate the skin and damage can go undetected well into your 20s and 30s. UVA damage manifests in the form of photoaging: fine lines and wrinkles, skin slackening, and a change in skin tone or hyperpigmentation on the surface of the skin. 

• UVB=Burning rays. Every time you expose yourself to the sun and the skin changes color or “tans”, you’ve actually burned your skin. Unlike UVA rays, you feel the effects of UVB damage when the skin begins to tingle.

• SPF=Sun Protection Factor. SPF is the measure of UVB rays and the time it takes for skin to burn, if unprotected. On average it takes about 20 minutes for the skin to burn, if unprotected.

• Broad Spectrum Sunscreen. Protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays.
