Cheers, fellow writers. I'm a retired mortician who now has time to focus on my real love...writing. I've written several short stories, poems, and essays, and I currently have two book-length projects on progress...a speculative fiction novel, and a non-fiction "awareness project" book. I also have a blog to which I contribute posts a few times a month. I'm looking forward to reading more about you all.

Cheers, fellow writers. I'm a retired mortician and entrepreneur. I've always loved to write and have been active in several online writing communities. I'm a blogger (when I have the time to blog), a writer of short stories, fiction and non-fiction, and I'm currently working on a speculative fiction novel. It's going to be a pleasure getting to know you. Please feel free to check out my blog...

So, I write...and I write pretty well. I've always had a propensity for the art but have never received any formal education in writing. I'm at a crossroads in my writing career. I am in the midst of deciding which route to take regarding education. I'm on the other side of 45 years old and have been seriously considering going to University to get my Bachelor of Arts in English. It'll take four years. My husband suggested just doing tons of college writing courses (usually 6-8 weeks in duration each). As an agent, do you look for "paper" to back up and validate the credibility of your writers? Or, do you let their writing speak for itself?  I'd appreciate your perspective. Cheers!...Kelly Olsen
