Teachers warn of 'Victorian' poverty http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-32181848 I was just thinking to myself , "at this rate our economy is going to see a return of poverty like the late 19th century" Shit, tenaments are already back with people living in tiny apartments. The wealthy continue 59 get wealthier while the population of people living below the poverty level grows. We really learn nothing from history.
Teachers' leaders say school staff are having to bring in their own food to feed pupils arriving hungry.

US tycoon Durst is a 'flight risk' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-32027077 So, a rich white guy kills three people and he gets away with it for years, padded hand cuffs and a team of lawyers. A poor Black man sells loose cigarettes and is killed by police, and the police get nothing. Durst killed and dismembered a body in an attempt to hide evidence and gets a slap. A Black unarmed teen dares to buy food at a convenience store, a man shoots him dead and that man gets nothing. Our society is crumbling under the thumbs of rich white men. If you believe that we're an equal society or an advanced one, you're wrong.
A New Orleans judge has said Robert Durst, the millionaire awaiting extradition to Los Angles to stand trial on a murder charge, is a danger to others and a flight risk.

Best fried chicken in town. Hands down. I've tried it all in this town & spent a lot more at trendy spots like Screen Door. The decor is basic and it's not trendy or fancy. Just good, hot, fresh, tasty chicken. We call our order in & pick it up. Always made Fresh. The pub attached is calm, inviting & you can eat this yummy chicken there! Fried chicken done right. Period.

Worst RHPS ever. 2 hours late..and ridiculously bad..and not in that "good way", more like that "OMG please let me out", way. I've been going to RHPS since late 80's elsewhere. PDX can do better. BUT I do rec. Seeing other shows there and buying tickeys at the box office. The online set-up is a joke. If you like old independant theaters, try this one out.

Go for the "cheese" factor. But don't go for the food or entertainment. A celebration of white male 50's idealism. They actually charged people $7 for a canned Guinness.

I love the variety and variable menu of good, fresh, well-made local foods. Can't complain about service or the food. The waitstaff are attentive w/o being annoying, welcoming, & helpful, & knowledgeable. My only complaints are lack of space and decible level. It's like eating at one giant family table w/ a family that has no inside voices. So loud. Like eating in a warehouse. The parking lot is pretty bad, too. Highly rec. Walking or biking there.
