Tried a cider for the first time. Kegged it last night, and it came out beautifully clear. Back sweetening it with some fresh juice with cinnamon sticks later today after it's done cold crashing.

All-grain brewing  -

Finally got around to brewing again. It's been a while for me. On docket for today is a very simple and standard Wit.

So what did everyone else brew this weekend?

Thoughts on the new Microsoft Surface Pro 3
So I've been a horrible blog author and have neglected this site for far to long. It's not that I haven't had anything to say, I've just neglected to say it. So with an attempt to get back on the wagon, here's some thoughts o...

I'm a fan of the 3:2 ratio - 99% of what I do is long, skinny web pages, so 16:9 doesn't make any sense.

It's the physical size of my 11" air, bigger and higher res screen, faster, touch friendly. Lots to like.

I'm not a kickstand fan though - a self-supporting screen makes bedtime & couch reading/surfing much easier.

I'm used to the OS X command prompt though.

I'll probably buy one to replace my wife's vintage 2009 Acer. Got to be better than that one. :-)

The streak so far
So as of January 1st I started a running streak, meaning I would run a mile every single day for as long as I could. So far I've been almost perfect in my attempt. I had one day where I had some serious bronchial issues, spent 2 hours at the doctors trying ...

Leaving big red.... for pink
I've been with many cell phone companies since I first joined the mobile revolution. Some random company with a 15 minute a month brick phone, Ariel (the pre-cursor to T-Mobile), AT&T (which became Cingular and then AT&T again), T-Mobile, and Sprint (under ...

Progress. Just need to put on the faucets, glue the collar down and adjust a few bolts.

Decided to try my hand at cider this winter. I've got a small keg that sits on the condenser in my keg chest, and didn't feel like making a small beer batch. So three gallons of cider is coming up.

Started at 1.047 and after 10 days I'm at 1.010. Probably will give it another 15-20 days at least. Then back-sweeten and add in some (opened) cinnamon sticks for added flavor.

I have a couple 1 gallon jugs that I use to make cider.... pretty simple and mighty good. Just beware the rhino fart off gassing!

Some thoughts on the failure of MN to repeal the Sunday Sales liquor ban.
This is an open letter to all liquor store owners who stand in opposition of a full repeal of Sunday sales of alcohol in Minnesota. I’m writing this letter to set various facts straight, and to hopefully change some minds. I ...

So I need to replace my co2 regulator. Mine has a defect and keeps creeping up in pressure over time. Looking for any suggestions for brands or models that people have had success with.

Mine creeps up when the co2 tank is almost empty. It stops when the tank is new.
