Having a complete dental exam with your vet is a great way to spot any dental issues with your pet, BUT brushing at home is the best way to keep them healthy! This is a great article about dental care at home for clean teeth and fresh breath. http://news.yahoo.com/cure-bad-pet-breath-could-toothbrush-away-092718013.html

Awesome story of cat named Holly who was lost in Daytona Beach, Florida then showed up near her house in West Palm Beach a month later! She was skinny and almost lost half her weight, but scientists suspect that she walked all or most of the way home! Her microchip helped identify her and return her safely. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/19/one-cats-incredible-journey/

Scary story of a entire family and two dogs in Gloucester Township who were exposed to a kitten infected with Rabies. Please be very careful with any stray, sick animal and know the signs of Rabies! There are some helpful tips included in this article: http://www.nj.com/south/index.ssf/2013/01/cat_tests_positive_for_rabies.html

Since we are on the subject of odd things being removed from our animals, this link has some great x-ray pictures of strange foreign bodies! One dog even ate Homer Simpson! (Note, just ignore the very last paragraph which is an advertisement.) http://www.probioticsmart.com/blog/16-weirdest-things-dogs-have-eaten/

We had HousePaws Mobile Veterinary Service in to visit our girls this morning and we can't say enough about how nice and complete they were. Our dogs felt very comfortable around them and both my husband and I did as well. Having them come to our home just takes the frustration out of trying to get two large dogs into the car and to the Vets office and home again. They were in their own comfortable environment and the stress level for them is a lot less. Love it. Would recommend this service to everyone with pets.

This past November, we were faced with having to put our beloved family dog down and when I called our vet's office and found out our usual vet wasn't in that day, we couldn't bear to take her out into the cold and yet we didn't want her to suffer. I suddenly remembered our neighbors had used a mobile vet service, so I went online and looked up a few. I called two and chose House Paws based on the extraordinary sensitivity the office staff showed as well as their willingness to come to our home that same day. Dr. Lisa and the vet tech were so kind and patient as we struggled with saying goodbye to our little Lucy. As painful as this process was (as anyone with pets knows), I must tell you that this was unlike any other experience I've had with letting a pet go. My husband and my son all agreed that if a moment like that could be made beautiful, the staff at HousePaws accomplished it. This past week, I called on them again to check up on our kitty and once again, I was so impressed by every staff member from the girl who answered the phone to Dr. Joyce and the vet tech. They came out despite the recent snowfall and we had bloodwork results back the following day. And they handled our feisty little kitty so well, so her stress was minimized without having to make that trip in the car. I have consistently received the most kind and caring service from each and every person connected with HousePaws and highly recommend them! I can't say enough about this fine group.

I brought my dog to several vets and wasn't happy with them until I heard about dr. lisa. She is a caring and honest vet who goes further into education to learn more to help our pets. She also helps out with donating her time for animals in need like the bcspca. She has a great personality and understands your needs. I recommend her to all my friends.

I left my last vet in Mt Airy after almost 20 years when my Schnauzer was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The last vet (which I won't name here) would not call me back to advise on treatment after 3 attempts. In desperation I found House Paws which is almost an hour away from my home but well worth the trip. I would leave a message for my last vet and (if he got around to it) would return my call when he was in the office which was only twice a week. When he returned the message it was to call him back. There was no original questions ever relayed to him and the vicious phone tag would begin again. Not the case with House Paws. They communicate through email and phone whenever it is necessary not just when they are in the office. They will tell it like it is - good and Bad - and let you decide. I took all three of my dogs there for a quick once over since I was switching over to them and I'm glad I did. I had taken them to my previous vet 3 months before for everything from senior blood work to dentals. At house Paws just 3 months later for this introductory exam I found that my terrier was in severe congestive heart failure. The swishing noises in his chest were apparent to me once pointed out but my last vet never mentioned anything more than his usual heart murmur. House Paws has keeps me informed about my pets health, needs and well being before during and after visits to them. There is nothing like a veterinarian that really cares about the animals and I would drive as far as necessary to get this sort of love for my furry ones.

We called in for a sick foster dog and they got us in the same day. They were great in working with our scared dog, super nice & friendly. They even called us the next day to see how the dog was doing. I recommend them to everyone!

I first met Dr. Lisa years ago, I have followed her from place to place until atlast she has finally started her own service. Dr. Lisa is the most caring, educated and dedicated vet that I have had the pleasure of getting to know. A few years back, after I had lost three dogs in a three month period, she stopped by just to check on me to see if I was okay, that is the person that Dr. Lisa is. I would trust and do trust her completely, and that goes for all of her staff. I have had the pleasure of meeting alot of the staff, they are all caring and professional. One staff member especially stands out, and his name is Louis, he has won over my Phoebe , who is a small Dachshund with a big attitude. I cannot say enough about how happy I am that Dr. Lisa decided to be a vet, and if your dog needs a chiroprator well then her husband Brad is happy to help you out. HousePaws Mobile Vet. is by far the best vetrinary service around. Just give them a call and you will find the most caring, educated and professional people around. I hope they are around for many more years to come.
